I've been thinking between the Dewalt Flexvolt Table Saw and Milwaukee M18 Table Saw. Seems like now I'm gearing towards Milwaukee's Table Saw because of the extra 12 Ah battery. I'm already invested into Milwaukee's system, and there is a inherent design flaw in Dewalt's safety switch mechanism in their portable table saw.

I would buy a corded if cordless wasn't available, but extensions cords aren't really my thing

The 12 Ah battery is mainly suitable for the bigger stuff. I would like to try one M18 6.0 HO battery, but I don't want to spend too much on batteries especially after getting a bunch of 5.0Ah batteries with recent previous clearance purchases. I already found two rapid charged included in two kits purchased not too long ago. Looks like the 6.0/12.0Ah combo kits aren't for me.

I would buy one 6.0 Ah battery for the M12 system, but they are currently not available at the sub-$50 range on eBay

I ended up with 2 batteries, for about that same price when it came out, and sort of wish I had waited. For most of my needs one 12 would be enough, but don't want to be waiting on a recharge, so I got the 2nd. I wish I had waited, and got 2 of the new 6.0 HO instead of the 2nd 12. They would end up seeing a lot more use than the big 12, which won't be going on tools I regularly pickup anytime soon.

It is wide though. It won't fit in the Husqvarna case I ended up with for free from Lowe's. Might fit if I were to cut a hole for the bar on the bottom, rather than how it is orientated now, but wouldn't love putting it away or taking it out like that. Only because of the bar oil that I would prefer to have it in a case.

I've been on the lookout for the Milwaukee table saw myself after buying and using the miter saw a lot. I have zero complaints about the miter saw for my use case so I have become a believer in battery powered where corded used to be the only option for a long time. I've been on the hunt for one from a CL/offerup/letgo reseller for a long time but I haven't seen a single one yet so like you the extra battery deal may just push me over the edge.

his deals always ****... He is lucky he has a lot of mindless zombies buying from him.

Did you really quote a post from 11 months ago?

Anybody see Toolup has the USB "stick light" 2112-21 w a free starter kit, so second USB battery and external charger for $59? Helluva deal, and I've been wanting the external charger for my USB tools

https://www.toolup.com/Milwaukee-21...t-Fld-Lt-w-Free-USB-Batt.-Chgr-Kit?quantity=1

Ok, HD is doing it too, so perhaps this was another Q4 deal that started today?

You'd have an easier time getting free shipping at HD but right now does not show available for shipping

Fawk yes! It's about time. This was supposed to start 11/1 and it did!

ORDERED!

I ordered mine online on 10/30. I'd been chomping at the bit for it since I knew about it. Now I'm trying to resist the urge of buying the table saw and miter saw....

Ok if anyone can find the 2112-21p with a free shipping threshold less than $200 please let me know.

I was gonna order 3 (one for me, two for gifts) but even at ~$180 Toolup wants $15 to ship to me. HD does not list them as being available for shipping (so I may just wait for the HD mother ship to get some) and Acme doesn't show the deal.

Yeah I actually just ordered the table saw (as a gift for my non-profit) and the chainsaw for myself. I wound up going Acme 'cause they're still not trying to charge sales tax. I have tax exempt ID's I can use through HD.com but I prefer to not, even if it is legit.

edit: I lied, both my desktop and phone would just say "submitting order" thru Acme, but it would never go beyond that, even after a solid 5+ minutes. So I wound up ordering thru HD after all

Every HD should have stock of them, might be in the rafters. Yes its a Q4 deal, actually the price was supposed to be $10 more. I luckily had a 10% HD coupon that expired yesterday so I grabbed one locally.

Though if you order online and pickup in store, they may grab the wrong one, same SKU, different UPC's

Every store? Thus far the big stores show stock for in-store pickup but the smaller ones do not. My store doesn't stock ANY RedLithium USB stuff so I'm skeptical; perhaps it'll appear in the RT as a promo.

Is anyone concerned about using battery tools for home use on something like a saw? I have a miter saw that's 15 years+ old and still runs great. What are the chances Milwaukee will still offer M18 in 15 years? Jobsite tools are "throw away" for the most part so I don't see any lasting more than 4 years if it makes it that long without being stolen or lost.

You can convert a cordless tool into a corded tool without too much work. I'm sure there will be a ready made adapter if there isn't one already. I've seen ones for DeWalt already.

Unquestionably M18 batteries will still be available in 15 years even if the platform is obsolete

It turns out that cordless tools are not just for jobsites. Running power cords around the house for small jobs is a real pain. And some of us work in amperage challenged spaces. A month ago I needed to make a quick cut on the tablesaw but the shopvac dust collection system and the window AC were using lots of amperage. I got about a foot into the cut when everything went dark. Cordless is much more convenient in a small woodshop. And the cordless nail guns are just the stuff for a few brads.

Toolup on eBay has the chainsaw with extra battery. After ebucks discount work's out to $370. I had $304 in ebucks expiring tomorrow, so I couldn't resist.

I bought the deal from Home Depot on the chainsaw, I couldn’t find a better deal with the free battery, wish I had seen that one, definitely would have been worth it. Oh well, today was an expensive day for me, between that order and my eBay purchases, I spent about $1200 that I really shouldn’t have. Early Christmas present or late Halloween gift.

Now that's a good way to utilize ebates :bounce:

Not sure I'd you are aware, ebates & ebucks are different. Ebates is cashback from multiple retailers & is paid out in PayPal or check. Ebucks are a form of cashback, not really cash, earned from eBay purchases. eBay pays it quarterly and expires after several days.

Oh, that was a typo on my part. Thanks for correcting me on that. They both serve similar purpose, good thing is that they both can also be combined. Only problem now is that the ebates cash back for ebay purchases is very limited now, but any amount will do :bounce:

I haven't tried yet, but will probably check in the next 24-48 hours. I usually ask an associate first in the tool department. The associate know better in terms of active promotions and ability to match an online offer. I tried it once (but with a different Milwaukee power tool) even with the Milwaukee rep on-site, but when scanning both the battery and tool at checkout the promotion did not ring. The Milwaukee rep and HD associate concluded that the deal was online-only exclusive and manager wasn't willing to budge. Only option was to ship to store. Upon looking closely, they have different SKU and Internet #'s as well

My bet is that the current online promos will be valid in-store on or around Black Friday, thus it can wait :)

Did you scan both?

Hiya Folks,
Been thinking about picking up one of their 3/8" ratchets for a while now. Usual price is ~$250 for a ratchet/battery combo (I haven't gotten into the M12 line up yet so will need a battery). HD has this on sale now:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...12-2-0Ah-Battery-2557-20-48-11-2420/306637315

Is this a good deal? Seems like it is but thought I'd check with the collective. Any inputs on the performance of these is appreciated as well.

Cheers

BUY! that's a good deal on the newer ratchet. You have a charger though?

I've been looking at those, but wasn't sure how much I'd like not doing by hand. I like the feedback you get my running fasteners in/out by hand to tell how things are going. Though some of those areas where you have little room to ratchet, they would be nice.

I paid $126 shipped for the tool only from Acme Tools using a 15% off coupon last month. The 2.0 battery cost me $24 on eBay. I think that’s as good as one can do on that package.

I used mine for the first time last night to remove the light bar from inside the bumper on my truck. There is limited space to ratchet and this tool did exactly what its supposed to do. I tried it on a much heavier tow hook bolt, of course that didn’t budge, so the 3/8” stubby impact made short work of it.

It works in store as well! :bounce: Bought the table saw, was able to return the extra battery, total after tax for the table saw and one 12Ah battery (already included) turned out to be around $400 including tax

Now to keep an eye out on price fluctuations 'till the end of this month.

I still have speculation that there will be slight price drop around Black Friday. I wonder if the table saws will undergo clearance in January to February (Although, I doubt it, this model is too new and always flies off the shelves thanks to contractors)

I have to agree on the feedback piece of things. I will no doubt break the fastener by hand and manually remove for a few threads just to make sure all is well before using this gizmo to back it all the way out. Likewise on tightening, stop before it bottoms out and manually torque it. I was working on my timing belt recently where I could only swing the ratchet an inch or so and that got me thinking about this.
Cheers.

Appears this may be holiday pricing not just from HD:
