So MaxTools just sent me a reminder about the buy more save more promo going on. Interestingly I looked at the tools in the link:
and I see there are tools missing from the "collection" that are in their email add, such as the track saw. Anyone know what the eligibility restrictions are on the buy more save more promo actually are?

ONLY A FEW HOURS TO JUMP ON THIS

HD DAILY SPECIAL MATCH FOR CALIFORNIANS.

For some reason you could not ship or pick up one of the daily specials in California.

However I was able to contact the text to help people and buy the 399.99 version where you can have the extra battery and the kit itemized and then she took off the 40 to price match. The entire 40 comes off the tool kit. So once I return the 8.0 battery I will get the kit for 213.50 before tax!

Each retailer seems to have their own customized list with a decent amount of overlap and some unique items.

I think it tends to be the higher volume stuff that has been released a year or more already. Not expecting any track saw sales outside of 15% off for a little while...

edit: looks like Max Tool has the nibbler which I haven't seen at other retailers.

Thanks Subroc. Is a Lawnmower for a $1000 is a good deal?

HD raised the price to $1,199 then dropped it back down to $1,099.
So a little less than 10% off. Might catch a 15% off, but I'd also check eBay.
Last weekend and authorized dealer had 10% a lot of their items, plus stacked with 20% off president sale coupon.

I already have the mower, so I wasn't exactly looking for it again.

Thanks 2manytools. Will wait for the next sale as my gas mower refuses to die. Sounds like around ~$800 is a good deal.

Speaking as someone who has run his mower in a rock or stump a few times, I think if that kills your mower, it was on its way out. My old piece of **** clapped out Craftsman Eager-1 20" mower didn't break the last 3 or 4 times I found a big rock by accident. I just cleared the debris and fired the mower right back up.

Does anyone know if that 1 handed m12 hedge trimmer is ever going to be sold not in a kit?

Find a rock or stump, hit it with the blade at full throttle, that'll kill it!

(Just trying to help a GJ guy out, LOL...)

Mike
Believe me I have tried :)

Last time was on a cinderblock hidden in some tall ivy that I completely forgot about. Had to replace the blade as it was so out of balance afterwards.

Worst-case, you'd break the crankshaft. Of course, the flywheel key SHOULD prevent that.

I still say, if you haven't killed a mower yet, you're not trying hard enough! You could always change the oil and forget to put the plug (or clean oil) back in...

I got a sure fire way.....wait I can’t take the credit here. Couple years ago I loaned out my tried n true Honda mower. Always trustier then an Eagle Scout on truth serum.

A month later he returns it. Says it won’t run. I’m like huh?? So I pull the oil dipstick and sure as **** he filled it with fuel and ran it.

Sooo the moral of the story is. Fuel n oil don’t mix ....

Give it s shot 👍

Yeah... Gas in the oil is most definitely not good. Oil in the gas isn't great, but isn't terminal.

Good deal on a pole saw setup - HD Special buy

I was very tempted but I didn't want to deal with selling ANOTHER motor only lawn tool and 6.0 battery. If they would have itemized the battery I would have jumped on it and probably ordered 5.

Just ordered the 2824-20 dual battery blower.
Anyone have one and can provide a first hand review?

My Troy built gas powered machine took an unfortunate heave off the roof when it wouldn't stay running while cleaning my gutters!
Temper Temper, yes, but had just had it worked on this last fall and was over it, and didn't want it to survive my tantrum. :/

Completely understandable.
A guy came to my store to locate a Milwaukee chainsaw. His gas version caused blisters trying to start, then ended up in the yard with multiple 10mm punctures.

See my post #25,324 for a high level review and some feedback.

I almost killed my generator last week. Plugged up ethanol in the carb even though I run the thing dry every time. Still not running 100% right. Needed it to charge my M18 power supply ironically in a three day power outage.

Not really a discussion thread, but I'll answer and post a deal. Many get notifications of thread posts, so best *to try* to keep it deal related.

The blower is a lot more powerful than Gen1/2 fuel blowers. Plenty of times I needed something more, and this answered, though I think Ego still has an edge with some models. It is nicely balanced, with 12s, but a tad heavy. Nice lock on slide switch, anf battery indicator.
Running two 12s at once brought to my attention how poorly one of my 12s is. No where near the runtime as the others.
I really feel they are asking too much for their blowers, at least MSRP. Not many promos you can do when you need 2 batteries, so I feel it should be $249.

Current holiday bundle prices, look back for a previous thread for skus

$75 M12 2.5 / 5ah battery pack
$90 m12 multi-tool kit w 2.5
$90 m12 M12 detail sander kit w 2.5
$119 M12 ⅜" wrench kit w 5
$100 M18 3 / 8ah battery pack
$150 M18 2732 circ saw kit w 6
$300 M18 4 tool combo kit

Where is that, and is it really THREE batteries??? Not seeing it here.

Mike
It’s the 3ah and the 8ah and I saw it at my store for $160 currently which is still a good deal if you need the batteries. 3 8ah for $100 would be insane they go for $120 or more each even on offer up

Thanks for clarifying. $100 for a 3 and an 8 is still a great deal. I don't think I've seen any M18 battery combos go that low in the past year or two.

Just checking the website, that combo is "on sale" at $199. Way overpriced to me.

Thanks. HD is showing none available at any local stores. BS has been down for at least a week...

DON'T EVER BUY BATTERIES ALONE!

Always buy some combo deal where you get a free battery and it's itemized. Return the kit, keep the battery and vice versa if you want the tool. I've been getting them to "price match" daily specials lately for the already in my cart itemized BOGO deals and they usually take it all off the first item so I've been getting 3697-22 kits for 213.50

I've bought batteries a few times on their own. The M18 3.0CP x2 for 100 deal is one I've gone for twice now. I have as many of those I need at this point. Most of the time I only get the batteries on a returnable deal. If I could get that 3.0/8.0 for 100 deal I'd buy it solo as that is a great deal.

DON'T EVER BUY BATTERIES ALONE!

I bought two of the M18 3ah/6ah combo sets when they were $99 a few years ago (right before COVID and the start of the "supply chain" extortion). Pretty happy with that deal, especially since it was the only thing I've ever found hidden in topstock. In hindsight, I should have bought all 9 sets that I found...

Not sure that I could have gotten them for much less. Don't they prorate batteries if you buy them as part of a BOGO deal, so you can't return the tool and keep the battery for free?

It also seems like they're flipping the switch on the deals, you buy the battery and get the tool free. Either way, I don't think you can return one item and keep the other for free?

Same. I wanted lower weight/profile batteries for my M18 Impact driver and drill, and these batteries made the tools much more user friendly.

That is a good deal and why you've never seen anything close to it since. More recently the 2 6.0 battery packs for 199 + free tool was another one of the better deals. You absolutely can itemize the "deals" and only keep one of the items. As long as they itemize them on the receipt.

I have noticed that recently they've started to itemize things less but it still happens VERY OFTEN. You can place orders like the one shown here and return just 1 of the items.

Right, but you don't get to keep the batteries for free, correct? That was the point I was trying to make...
