Here's the link to my post when I'd found those batteries, early 2021, was probably a leftover Christmas special:

SALE PRICE WAS $91. Oddly, the original price now ($249) is about the same as then! They're currently on sale for $179.

So, when @SnapOnSnapOff showed his itemized example, it seemed like a lot of effort for a (relatively) small discount. I would definitely agree that you should never buy batteries alone at full price (or bare tools, for that matter). And, if the battery you want isn't on sale, then returning half an order is an effective way to get a discount (I still haven't tried it, as I'm still building my M18 kit).

That was the very first item I was able to find as an example and throw in my cart. As a rule I don't EVER buy batteries. I ALWAYS buy a kit, hopefully for a tool I need, but even if I don't, I'll sell the tool to bring the battery cost down or make it free and put cash in my pocket.

I loaded up on 3297-22 kits recently at 213.50 each and made a killing! You always have to order "deals" 1 at a time too in order for them to be itemized so I had 25 separate deliveries on top of my normal ~5 packages a week from HD(I'm a contractor). What's really odd is they obviously fucked up the tax on the entire kit price somehow because I live in an 8.5% sales tax area and got charged $5.28 tax on a 213.50 item... HD is such a poorly run operation I have no idea how they are a quarter of a trillion dollar corporation. I guess it just proves how high their margins really are.

They literally pay employees to prevent people from purchasing items, and then to throw them away! One of the most egregious things I ever saw was when they clearanced out one of the m18 nailer 2 battery kits, only to bring the same exact same model nailer back in tool-only form at full price before they had even sold out of the clearanced priced kit. Once it hit .03 I snatched them all up but for a time you could buy the kit for less than the tool-only. HD=Horribly Deficient, that goes for Harley's too ;)

Where are you selling the bare tools?

I don't know why anyone would buy a bare tool from anywhere other than an approved retailer, how would they make a warranty claim?

Goes by serial # manufacturer date if they don't have receipt. At least for Milwaukee. Some rather have the savings over full warranty

Thanks saved me $24. They didn't have the M12 brush vacuum attachment, but they did have a bunch of consumables that were cheaper than usual with this sale that I have been eye'ing like a couple of 16 inch chainsaw bars, white Inkzalls, etc.

What vacuum, specifically? I have the M12 Fuel vacuum and use their filter bags, 49-90-2016. I have to order them online b/c HD doesn't seem to sell them.

I have a 0880 v1.

Looks like the m12 and m18 fuel vacuum has the vac bags specific to the models.

The Milwaukee person answering the HD Q&A seems to think the HEPA filter on the 0880 makes the bags irrelevant. :eyecrazy:

The best option I've found is to put a fabric filter sock over the paper filter. It catches most of the material the vac ***** in and then it's easy to pull it off and wash it out in the sink or with a hose.

I have some pool filter skimmer bags that might work well. I am going to give it a go.

There's usually 2 or 3 randomly good deals in the whole thing, but yea I am not sure why Napa likes wasting everyone's time by putting together a big fancy catalog with not many good deals. They must be thinking along the lines of Snap On Bogos + a bunch of other stuff at retail trying to lure in the impulsive shopper.

Twice this week I’ve been thinking about two jobs where I could use a shop vac. This is on the small side, but both jobs need something small and portable. I’ll do some research, but I’ll probably snag that vac.
