Not trying to hijack the thread but the Bauer cordless heat gun can be modded to use a Dewalt battery. I did it with the Bauer cordless glue gun. If you already have Dewalt batteries for $39 it's a good deal. If you don't need it today there might be a coupon for Mother's Day and then we also have Memorial Day and Father's Day comin' up fast.

Who knows?
Good deal for the heat gun at ~$90 today

Also the Rover and Power Supply for $129 is a steal if each of them is $65ish.

Fwiw, it might be worth it to Google “Heat Gun GarageJournal” and read up a bit.

There are a few videos testing various heat guns and the Milwaukee comes in pretty weak with low heat and no lock on the trigger. I was going to buy it until I ran across the threads from others here on the GJ.

No doubt it's definitely weak sauce heat wise, but I like it for what it is and my use cases (heat shrink and melting the wax on bicycle chains so I can get the chain link on).

Think I am finally going to invest and buy a narrower nozzle for it based on the suggestions above.

Received my order of two 12.0 batteries and one 8.0 starter kit.
This was an online order, picked up at store locker.
Question: Is it possible to return the 8.0 starter kit in store? These items were individually packed and not a whole kit. I've returned batteries from in-store special buys with individual items but never tried it with an on-line, shipped to store purchase.

I gave up waiting for sales on 12's, so I bought one on Amazon a while back. It was $179. Not too far off from the "holy grail" of $10/ah that gets mentioned here.

There have been several sales in the past several months, after a long hiatus. 3 x 12 for $399 and 2 x 12 plus 1 x 8 for $339. Be patient and you might find another. Those all may have been at HD.

I've been wanting one of those but I don't really have a good use for it. I cut sheet metal less than once a year right now. I just want it because I'm a tool *****. Plus I just bought a CO2 laser cutter (spoilers: Milwaukee doesn't make one).

Milwaukee M12 XC HO 5.0 and 2.5 with charger for $99 at Home Depot is back. I like these better than the 6.0 ones.

My brother was able to get it a couple weeks back in the afternoon. It or something similar will come back around.
Yup it will probably come back. I think it's one of the deals that will sell out fast again so if it's something you want, keep an eye and be ready to pull the trigger on it immediately.

(Edit to remove non-deal discussion to put in the other thread)

If anyone can clear up which of those are good, which have reliability problems, I'd appreciate it.

I already have the M12 lineup so I'm not sure why I'd ever need M18 CP batteries. I think if I'm going to get an M18 tools, it's because the M12 version of that tool isn't powerful enough. An analogy, if someone has an AR chambered in 556 and adds a 12 gauge because they want more power against bears, then buying a shotgun and then birdshot as your only ammo for the shotgun doesnt make sense.

While there is discussion here related to deals, that looks more closer to a dissertation. 😉
I would recommend copying that over to the Milwaukee Addiction Thread.

Pulled the trigger on my first M12 tool (have plenty of M18)...

M12 Fuel, 3/8 high-speed ratchet (2567-20), with CP HO 2.5 Ah battery, 41% off, $159. I also had some unused gift cards, $150 worth, which eased the pain, LOL!

Mike

I recommend getting the tall shift knob for it. Makes it even better. My coworker has the same ratchet but with the stock shift knob, I can't stand it after using the tall. Damn thing should come with it to begin with but whatever, no sense in complaining.

Used the ratchet for the first time yesterday, I agree that the recessed shift knob seems like a bad idea for the type of work I'd use it for...

Presumably, this is the correct tall one (49-06-2567):

The lowest price I see is $35, do these ever go lower? I don't need this immediately, so I could wait for a sale.

I've never seen em go on sale but then again I've never really paid attention. I paid $35 for mine also & got it from HD (free one day shipping), that was in 2021. Good thing the price has not gone up like most eveything else.

Wow, $269 for the M18 Fuel Hammer Drill with 3 x 5.0 batteries, a charger and a hard case!

The bare tool is $235. The batteries are worth at least $150 (at the mythical and rare $10/ah price).

Of course, I have zero use for this (or 3 more batteries)...
