If quietness is your goal, it is cheap after returning the battery. But the non surge is much more powerful.

The reduction in noise is very welcome for me. I've never come across something the surge wouldn't do that a regular impact would. Longest lags I've drive are 3.5" and yes it is slower but man do my ears not hurt after I use it.

Looks like a good deal ????
If you select the right option on the HD website your cart / receipt will separate the tool from the battery allowing one to return the battery and get better pricing for the surge impact driver. IMG_3641.jpegIMG_3640.jpegIMG_3639.jpeg

Looks like there are a ton more deals available on special buy today:
The sawzall looks like a great deal too.

Sure does, as does the m18 grinder and the M12 impact kit at $119.99. Haven't seen one on sale before and I've been eying them for a long time. Had I not just bought a pile of stuff from Acme I would be ordering those.

On the surface, the m12 deal is alright, but for $80 more, you get a ratchet, hammer drill, an upgrade to a 4ah battery, and decent bag.

Some pretty good "hackable" deals on Labor Day Sale.

M18 Gen 2 SawZall for $110 after battery return

M18 6 Bay Rapid Charger - $150 after battery return

M18 Brushless Circ Saw for $105 after battery return.

M18 Portaband Saw for $205 after battery return

M18 String Trimmer Tool Only - $159 (no hack needed)

M18 Forge 12.0Ah battery (48-11-1813) on Woot for $189.99. This is the new Forge style battery.

Kinda scratching my head on this one - Woot is a reputable company and owned by Amazon, but not a Milwaukee dealer as far as i know. Not sure how warranty would work beyond the typical date code on the battery. Regardless, this battery seems to be $249 everywhere else.

Milwaukee M18 Forge 12.0 Ah on Woot!

Woot does sell team red and team yellow occasionally. I believe date code on the battery is what you get?

^ True dat!
WOOT sells both and they have great customer service.……… Always compare the WOOT price to other stores before hitting the buy button.

BTW! WOOT is Amazon's "step child" for older stock deals.

They sell a lot of yellow.

Like Amazon, not an authorized retailer so date code will govern I would think.

I think Milwaukee prohibits their authorized retailers from selling on ebay, Amazon, Woot, etc. but not totally sure.

Hmmm do I break my 10 amp hour per battery rule for a Forge or two? Or wait until the Forge's are offered in package deals?

Great deal @thandley

The only promo I've seen for Forge batteries, is during the holidays last year with the bundles, packaging them with a Sawzall, grinder, or supercharger. And that was negligible.
I think $190 is a pretty good price. Some have been trying to get HD to sub it in for the buy a 12, get a 5 free promo, as the hang tag lista both skus on the older tag. My store even put up a sign 😂

Got to give HD credit for shooting their customers' puppies here and we sometimes wonder why HD gives us a hard time for returning a BOGO item.

Woot is far from fake, been around forever, never had a bad experience.
I was saying the tool was cave, not the site.
Tons and tons of fakes on Amazon too.

Edit... FAKE not cave. I got my phone wet a few weeks ago while working in the rain and ever since the autocorrect is crazy!

It's a "waterproof" phone too, Samsung FieldPro

Ordered a 6.5" circ saw with #8 battery for about $205 and they called me saying it's not available, the website is incorrect.

No idea why Home Depot does "not in Alaska" for tons of products, it's frustrating.

Said only way I could buy it was ordering it at the store and I'd have to pay boat shipping and WA tax, and wait 4-6 weeks.

The top handle chainsaw is $349. If you add the free battery, it adjusts the price to $222 with the battery being around $129. How does the return situation work if I keep the tool?

If the receipt itemizes each item respectively at the reduced price then returning one should be no problem.

Believe this deal keeps popping up on special buys of the day for $319 if I am not mistaken.

The soldering iron is pretty low power, worked well on some 20 gauge thermistor wire repairs on my mini split recently but is challenged on 14 gauge.

Solid deal on the bandsaw and impact but I’ll point out the pin detent on that impact wrench rather than the friction ring most prefer.

Good point. Great when you don't want to drop a socket, ***** to swap sockets.

Soldering iron is good for light applications involving automotive and trailers kind of like the anemic heat gun. Anything 16 gauge and above would take something with a cord.

I have a butane iron I used for trailer wiring works well up to 10ga, ok on 8ga.

HD special buy has a bunch of team red on sale today, mostly the usual suspects. Factory authorized and MaxTool also have 15% off Milwaukee sales today.

Home Depot has the M12 Fuel drill/driver/ratchet combo for $199 down from $229 last week. Extremely tempted to get this.

Napa Real Deals has a Chainsaw or blower and Forge 6.0 for $330/$180. Might be one of the cheaper ways into a Forge so long as you need/want a chainsaw or blower. I am personally waiting for better package deals for stuff I actually want. The blower deals comes out to about $13 per amp hour for Forge.
