I haver the orbital and very happy with it.
Thats not good news on the belt sander guess I can always return it if need be.
I am not a serious wood worker so maybe it will be ok.
I’d be interested in your thoughts on it.
The updated orbital sander is a nice improvement over the OG especially for dust collection, but the OG also works well.
I honestly don’t know which one I got. I’ll have to look at the model number but I did but it within the past year.

Had some trouble with charging an M18 battery Saturday night. Most likely user-error. I keep my charger (normal, dual-type M18 & M12) in the (uninsulated) garage, right near the main doors.

Outside temp was in the low teens °F (or less). Inside the garage couldn't have been much warmer.

Was trying to change an M18 battery that I'd just used with my inflator to top off a tire. That had been stored in my truck. Battery was down to one bar, but worked perfectly.

Plugged the battery into the charger, got a blinking red light. Unplugged the charger, pushed the battery button again (while still in the charger), got the alternating green and red blinking lights on the charger.

Brought the battery and charger into the house, let them warm up overnight, everything is fine now.

I really don't "want" to have to have the charger and batteries indoors all the time, but is that the proper way to charge them?

BTW, the charger is from my initial M18 purchase in 2020. Not sure about the battery, could be that old, or newer, as I've been slowly expanding the herd of M18 tools and batteries over the years.

Milwaukee has a lot of logic built into their batteries and likely have a minimum temp to charge. Per their literature they don’t recommend charging below 40 F.

I keep mine in the garage at 45 over the winter and try to warm them before charging.

Batteries need to be kept above freezing, freezing temperatures will degrade and damage them.

Yes, it is best to keep them at room temperature and charge them at room temperature, they will not charge properly if cold.

I had a price alert on that compound 12" miter saw deal that I missed last month and it just came back in stock. Showed 1 in stock and I grabbed it. I wasn't sure if it was still the same price so I did some looking around and found this website that price tracks:
Might be useful for the rest of us when we aren't sure if a deal is good or not.

Despite the mixed reviews I ordered a M12 soldering iron from Home Depot this morning.

The nearest HD is about an hour away and although the website said they had two in stock, I don't trust it and the online offer comes with a free 2.0 battery.

I don't understand it but whenever I order Milwaukee stuff online from Home Depot, it takes a week or more for them to come in.

The orders from the website don't come from the local store, they come through the website fulfilment process. I believe they are technically separate companies owned by a parent company. Website shipped to home orders come from different sock than in store order pickup. The fulfilment center for your house must be far away and very busy so it takes a while to pick/ship and then get to you. That is my best guess.

Correct, did you read my post? I got the last one. If you want to try and score one you need to fill in the section on the webpage and hope it comes back before the deal is over:

I have it shipped to the nearest store. According to the tracking number, it originates in Indiana. The store is in central Illinois. lol.

Milwaukee M12 heated hoodies and Axis vests on a Daily Deals sale today, decent prices.

Just ordered myself another vest for work. The last one lasted 5-6 years and died when I was wearing it under the truck and rolled, must've pinched or broke the wires in there somewhere.

New quarter for promo's, and are on Deal of the Day with some extra savings. Some of the deals look to be the last time they offer last quarters promos (8ah Forge with other tool purchase)

* Then there is BMSM M18 tools starting, with $400 off $1000 top tier. Link to sawzall to see the rest (damn, they raised the saw another $20!).
Not all tools seem to populate under that tool it seems. The Cut off Saw Kit is also included.

* M12 BMSM. Buy 2 tools, save $100. Buy 3, save $200

* M18 6ah HO with purchase

* M12 5ah HO with purchase

Most notable deal today is the 4x M18 12ah batteries for $569. The 12ah is part of BMSM, however there is an order limit of 3, but if 4 were allowed (likely in store), the price would be $716 part of the promo.

In additional :poop: news, looks like the string trimmer kit & bare tool went up $30, to $379 and $279.

Home depot special buy of the day has some team red today. Nothing for me. If you want the Axis heated gear a lot of that is on sale as well.

You can get the M18 15mm stroke DA Polisher again right now for $178 after returning the grinder you can get as a free tool. I think this is only the third time this has been on sale in the last 18-24 months.

That blower deal is pretty awesome HD, has it for 349 with battery and charge. Acme is listing @169 for blower and battery plus charger. Almost wanting to spring for it but my corded is still working.

Deal looks good with free battery/charger. My M18 blower works great for my usage but figure on keeping a few batteries on standby for any extended blowing.

I used coupon code: SAVE20Q226 ($20 off), but this doesn't appear like it's active for me now, so it might be limited to single use or expired.

Regardless, it's a good deal if you want the FUEL version of the screw gun (it never goes on sale, retails $150+) and can live with the older gen ratchet (still the high speed, 3/8" drive). I love the rover light for my applications.
