A 2AH battery?? I can't think of one tool I would use that for. :lol_hitti
I didn't even know they made those.

I use mine mostly for the stick light, original work light, and the compact 3/8" impact mostly. My drywall screw gun kit came with 2.0's And the 2607 brushed drill I have was purchased as compact kit on a sale, though they are pretty useless in that for any extended use.

Don't even try them in the grinder :lol_hitti

Ok so cpo has buy a hand tool and a power tool kit and save 20% on both so if I buy an ax sawzall blade and 2730-22 I get them all for 327 does that seem like a nice deal on the fuel 6.5 circular saw?

I think the circular goes for $199 bare, so under $170 on ebay. $100-$115 for 2 5.0 batteries. It's a little high for me to consider, and I have been thinking about the 6.5" now that Diablo increased their blade offerings in this size.

Any deals for the 1/4 fuel ratchet? Wanted to check here before I pulled the plug. Best I found so far has been $155 shipped. It's 2556-20.

I bought the regular version awhile back. I bet I have used it once or twice. The 3/8 ratchet is usually the go to. I recommend that one if you don't have it already.

I second this. If I need to go to 1/2 I'm usually using a impact and if I'm using 1/4 I'm using a standard ratchet because I want the feel and control. I had all 3 size on air and really only used the 3/8 one. When I moved to electric I got the 3/8 fuel.

Has anyone used the string trimmer? Does it actually work as good as a gas one??

I have used the older one a lot. It's not nearly as powerful as gas, but for blowing leaves and stuff it works fine.

Using your trimmer for leaf blowing? :LoL blower isn't bad, just not great.

Aa for the string trimmer, I'd pick the M18 over gas every day. We have plenty of land 60+ acres, and never has it not been enough for the job.

Worth it. No problems or jobs it hasn’t been able to do to. I switch it up to .95 echo line. The string makes another difference compared to the one it came with.

Funny, I thought the love that came with it was much better than previous brands I had used. I haven't made it through what they put on the original spool yet, and have been more than happy with the quality. But echo does know their sh!t

How is the power on these (Trimmer and weed wacker) vs. a gas one? I am picking up a piece of property which is probably too big to pay someone to do w/o feeling like I'm having to take out a second mortgage to pay them. I may switch to power tools using this battery too if this a decent product that works as well as its gas counterpart.

Wow I derped on that didn't I? I was reading something about the blower and responded about the leaf trimmer.

I have pretty much the same response about the string trimmer though. Not having to hear a gas one scream while you're whacking, mess with 2-cycle oil, fuel, starting, etc. is worth the minor reduction in power.

I haven't used my gas one since I bought the M18. Definite buy!

Yes, Mine is great. I have 1.5acres with lots of landscaping and garden beds. I can do it all with a 9.0ah and still have plently left.

That's good to know. I have about 3 acres and typically 30 minutes of trimming each week. I'm thinking about selling my gas trimmer while it still has some value and switch to the M18.

My favorite part about the string trimmer? wife can use it!
She's a very intelligent woman with a Masters Degree as a CRNA. She takes people to the brink of death and brings them back to life on a daily basis. She controls their pain while being cut open, prodded and poked.
But she cannot crank up a gas weed whacker. Go figure.
Now when she ******* about the spots I missed, she has no excuse.

Just like the guys who can rebuild an engine, but somehow just can't manage to load the dishwasher properly or do laundry without damaging something? She's playin' you, son!

LOL, this is me. My wife constantly complains how I load the dish washer so I just let her re-arrange it as she sees fit.

Oh no! She's not playing me. She has me trained very well at almost 30 years of marriage.
We still fight over the dishwasher issue. But it's the other way around. She was loading knives pointy side up. Stabbed myself once and let her have my piece of mind. When she did it again a week or two later, I poured ketchup all over my hand, held it up and started cursing profusely across the house at her. When she looked up, I could see her stomach flip. (She's a nurse, but blood on loved ones gets to her)
Never had a pointy side up since.

I had the Dewalt 40v string trimmer, and it was fine, but I returned it the day after Milwaukee announced their OPE running on the batteries I already had. I think I would call it a draw on the Dewalt 40v vs Milwaukee, but that's me, and would give the win to the Milwaukee b/c the batteries are more widely used.

As far as hedge trimmers, I don't do much, but I've tried a Ryobi & Milwaukee. Milwaukee is way more than I'll ever need, but rather have than the underwhelming Ryobi (at the time). Reviews put the Milwaukee at the middle of the pack for hedge trimmers. Not great at anything, but doesn't come in the bottom of any testing either. ProTools Reviews

lol...my chick is heli pilot. When she casually asks me to do something because "she doesn't know how" I call her out and poke fun at her..."Oh, you can fly million dollar machines and watch a hundred gauges, but you can't hang Christmas lights!?" .... (It's all in good fun. That's our style, we are not demeaning to each other)

I picked up the hedge trimmer on a deal last summer after I missed the deal for the weed whacker and hedge trimmer for $299. The hedger trimmer is great. Its handled our land just fine and works great.

I just grabbed the weed whacker and blower deal since Ive wanted the whacker since last year. Im going to delegate the blower to garage/driveway duty since it doesnt have the greatest reviews compared to gas, which I have one already.

Hey guys, have you ever found a more auto related M18 combo kit? 1/2" impact, 3/8 ratchet, etc? I seem to not find that ratchet in any combo kit. All the kits w/ the impact have tools I'll never use also. :( HD has discounts on kits sometimes and between my military discount and the 11% menards match it'd be a great deal if I can find one.
Thanks much,

Dave

Your deal is dead in the water if you read your first sentence (sorry). They don't make a M18 3/8" ratchet. Ratchets are M12 only. You won't find that paired with their most powerful impact wrench, but rather other M12 tools. I have seen some M12 ratchet & M12 impact wrench or driver deals, but not too often, most times being from Nick on Facebook. I did see an auto bundle of the M12 Fuel 3/8 wrench, 3/8 ratchet, and hood light sometime last year, though that was when the light was released last year.

I haven't used any of the stuff personally yet, but when I was reading reviews, the EGO blower gets several better reviews vs the Milwaukee.

Both the Milwaukee and EGO string trimmers get great reviews. I held them both in person in Home Depot, and the shaft and head on the Milwaukee seem to be more stable vs the EGO. Who knows, the EGO floor model could have just been loose?

I stumbled across this EGO deal for the blower and trimmer and jumped on it. Cheaper than the Milwaukee deal, plus you get 2 batteries and 2 chargers (instead of 1 with the Milwaukee). Since I also already bought the EGO mower, it made sense to me to keep my OPE with EGO.

PS - 1 M18 9.0 ah battery = 162 watts of total power. 1 EGO 56V 2.5 ah battery = 140 watts. You get 2 batteries, and a total of 280 watts

https://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-110...ries-and-Chargers-Included-LB5302ST/304510984

We'll see how the stuff actually performs once I move into our house in a couple weeks!

Odd their right angle impact looks like a ratchet to me which confused me on first look

So as of now anyone w/ the M18 stuff cannot use a ratchet unless they have a spare M12 battery/charger?

The nice thing is, all their 18v chargers have a spot for 12v batteries. The ratchets do come in kit form, but the non-fuel comes with 1.5ah batteries, which I rather not have anymore. you can usually find pretty good deals on 2.0ah compact & XC battery packs, that I probably would try to find the tool in bare form if this is the route you are going.

I hope they come up w/ an M18 ratchet so I have one battery type. Hopefully they have a multi battery charger too.

doubtful. M12 keeps the size minimal, though the Fuel has a heft to it that feel like an M18 compact battery would pair with it nicely. I think they wanted to keep it as slender as possible to be like a traditional ratchet. Most Fuel kits come with an XC style battery, but the ratchet still comes with a compact 2.0. While I say this, I use a large pack on mine all the time to set it down on, and I'm not a mechanic by any means

Thanks for the heads up.
Ordered the trimmer/blower deal. Have been watching the same 4 trimmers at the local HD and never came off the $299 price. Have wanted one of the blowers for a while. It will work good carrying on the tractor while running the bush hog to blow out the grill guard on the tractor.

I just can't see myself having another type of battery around because of one tool. Plus when it dies I have to have a second to interchange. So basically at least 2 of the M12 and M18s

If you end up with M12 tool, you will end up with another most likely, it just happens. If you are worried about always having juice, then I might reccomend going the 2 x 1.5ah batteries, so one is always charged. Otherwise I have a feeling the 3.0 compact battery would last you a decent while w/o charging, maybe all day
