I looked at the PNs. Any milwaukee tool ending in -20 is a bare tool only. I went to the light sub category which lists their lights for sale. Here is where all their M18 work lights are.

Must of worked before the deal ended.

I had the light kit and really wasn't impressed got it for under $150, 2 Black Fridays ago. Just sold the light only off a week ago for $120. Used it 2x was waiting for huge drop in the 2nd version with AC power but I don't think I'll get it though.

Well thank you, i guess I just needed to add it to the cart. How bright is this light for those who have used it? Can it be used as a shop light with a car on a lift?

Maybe, if it was a full size lift. I just do work on jack stands, so it wouldn't work for me. It is around 4ft before extension, and very bright. You may want to consider the M18 Rover. Also very bright with position-able head, and magnet mount ability, but very compact.

Fleet Farm has $20 off all M18 bare tools and $25 off all M18 Fuel bare tools. Their selection isn't great, but I picked up the M18 vacuum (0880-20) for $79 vs. $89 at Home Depot and $99 nearly everywhere else.

Seems they make up for that sale price in shipping charges. After shipping they are right there w/ HD prices from what I am seeing.

I use my M18 tower light all the time under my lift and think it’s great. You can adjust the height and the angle of the head. Probably the M18/110V one is better, but it costs twice as much.

Yeah that is what I've been reading. Isn't it just that little ball that depresses? At least that is what the pics look like. I've never had an issue getting a socket off by hand w/ those but it seems the Milwaukee one requires a screwdriver almost.

Yeah, it's actually a pin, not a ball like some other ones I have seen. The point of the pin detent is for people that are working construction or linemen high up in the air. If the socket accidentally falls off, that could be very dangerous for people below.

I ordered the Rocket Light Tower with the charger and 5.0 battery from Acme this morning. I sweet talked my way into the CYBERED 20% discount and got it for $159.20 shipped.

At one time there was a video here on GJ that showed how to modify the tip of the pin so the socket would come off easily.
If I remember, guy disassembled the unit removing the anvil. Pulled out the spring and pin detent and then rounded the end off and slightly shortened it some.
I can imagine that if you have a steady hand you could do the same with a Dremel tool and a jewelers file.

If you show the ad from F&F at HD they’ll match the price and beat it by 10%

Wow how did you manage that? I tried that code just for S&G but no luck.

Orders >$49 are free shipping at Acme so not sure what you're talking about there. 199 with the free battery and charger is still a decent deal.

I wish those would drop around here. I've been wanting to get one, even $99 isn't bad. But our store has 3 in stock at normal price.

That's a great deal. Was referring to another post above speaking about fleet farm. I'd love to know how 1320 got that 20% cyberred to work :) If I can I'll be buying this.

Dang, yesterday you could have got it for 15% at acme. It's not a bad deal. If you can find it in store (most are sold out of the kit), you can return the battery and the kit will be around $375. The free 9ah is not free, but rather the cost is proportionately taken off each of the 2 items, allowing you to return for money back. Unless you want a 9ah

The 9amp Milwaukee batts are incredible. They don't die. Even using it in my circular saw.

You can just take a bare battery from a kit back?

I was sold on settling for a ryobi one. Considering the $60 vs $100 difference I was fine with. Home Depot said online they weren’t available in store or online. But seeing it for $70 I jumped on it. I was tempted to grab both. Now if only I could find an milwaukee orbital sander in store and on clearance would be great. If not I’ll jump on the ryobi one for $40

If your talking about bare battery inside the kit then No you can't do that.

The battery you should/would be getting is a retail package one. So it be like returning a brand new retail package. The way Home Depot does alot of the offer's is by a discount % off the tools. So I believe you be paying $500 + taxes and then you should be able to return 9.0 for $169 + taxes I believe the battery will be full price. So you be around $358 or so depending on your tax rate example was 8%.

HD 1 mile away is 10.75%, 5 miles away is 9.75% and about 15 miles away 7.75%.

Acme tools it would of been $424 - 3% Cash Back site and another 5% for Chase/Paypal when you paid. Around $390 after CB payouts if you didn't get hit with taxes. And you can flip that 9.0 for $100 no problem maybe more.

The discount is a fixed amount, the battery cost, bot a percentage. The cost off the battery is proportionately taken off each of the kit & 'free' battery. So $170 off $670. If you have military discount, try to have them just take 10% off the kit, not your whole order as the promotion won't stack with military.

Kit = 500 * (500/670)
Bat= 170 * (500/670)

If you are keeping the 9.0, the acme deal is better out the door, and very likely no tax, plus at least 3% back thru couponcabin (I got 7%)

Every Milwaukee tool kit I have gotten have had the battery in the hard case or in the bag, never in a retail box. How are you guys getting retail batteries unless its a Milwaukee direct special?

Thanks
Dave

Hey Dave I'm talking about the 9.0. It should be a retail package from Home Depot and same from online sites as well. The 5.0 will be in the kit in a bag or something. People where buying the $500 kit at HD and grabbing a 9.0 retail package. Then just returning the 9.0 battery.

Hope that helps.

Ahh thanks. Yeah the 5.0, 3.0 and 1.5s were all in plastic bags. I need to get a 9.0 battery, i just wish I knew how the one user here was able to use that cyberred code at acme for it.
