I have found my 1/4 ratchet virtually useless. My 3/8 is my go to.

i dropped by home depot today because i read somewhere (here?) that the 2361 light was on sale for 50$ at some stores. not at mine.

i found that "the smallest store in the district" got some more 2130-20's in stock. the sticker on the shelf is yellow, and lists them for 149$ (regularly 199$).

mixed in was one 2135-20, but no shelf sticker. i scanned it, and it came up as 200$. they only ever had one, and clearanced it out for 200$ months ago.

so, for reasons known only to HD and Milwaukee, they shipped more 2130's to a store which was already clearancing them out. then, for some reason, they added one 2135 to the shipment (maybe that is the default setting, send three 2130's and one 2135).

a clerk saw me, and pointed out that this one was different, and was 499$. he scanned it on his handheld, and showed me the screen, trying to be helpful that i wasn't getting the 149$ one. i showed him the sticker i printed from the price checker station. his jaw fell. i assume his handheld is getting data off the corporate site. i have a feeling that had he realized it was on sale, it would have not been there for me to check.

dont know if this is happening at your stores, but if it was one of the stores that clearanced these lights out months ago, might be worth swinging by and seeing what has shown up . . . .

My local HD has 10 in stock at $149

I heard a <$5 adapter gives you a 1/4" :)

havent used one myself but I think the 3/8 model has slightly more torque and the 1/4 has slightly more RPM

I've considered buying a new fuel 3/8 unit but the head is HUGE!! anyone used one and care to share?

35 ft/lb on 3/8", 30 on the 1/4". Never heard the RPM comparison, but I think I'd rather always have the extra torque. Not that you can't just brake it loose with the same ratchet in manual operation.

the base CPO web site is having a sale on some refurb tools. here is a pointer to the milwaukee section:

https://www.cpooutlets.com/reconditioned/reconditioned,default,sc.html?prefn1=brand&prefv1=Milwaukee

code, as referenced in the the banner, is MEMORIAL18.

free shipping starts at 49$.

note this is not on the CPO milwaukee dedicated site, which has a minimum free shipping threshold of 199$.
Thanks.
I'll try a refurb 1/2" impact.

I'm looking for just the 2nd gen blower, 2724-20

Suggestions for the best deal right now? I don't really need any other OPE (already have the string trimmer and hedge trimmer) or batteries or chargers (although I wouldn't mind a 12.0) so I'm likely looking for tool-only.

Looks like eBay's the best bet right now at ~$125 unless someone is aware of a better Memorial day sale code?

Buy in store at HD w/ trimmer and return the trimmer

150 * 300/450 = ~$100

Who's got the best deal going on M18 batteries right now? Just picked up the shop vac and would like a 5 amp I could keep in it, and serve as a backup for my fan.
Thought about the 2.0, but why?

Acme Tool has 10% off the entire order plus free shipping.

Promo code MEMORIALDAY.

Most of my cordless tools are Dewalt, but I pulled the trigger on the string trimmer and blower $269 OTD.

FWIW, ebay has a $15 off for home and garden, and tools fall under that category. Have to spend at least $75. ON THE APP ONLY. I snagged a Milwaukee 2767-20 impact for $158 last night.

EDIT: I think I now need two 5.0 batteries.

you need two 2.5AH batteries, two 5AH batteries, and one 9AH battery.

swapping batteries between tools as you use them is a viable option, but i am not a fan. i put a battery on each tool as i pull it out, so it is ready to use when i need it. yesterday i had one 1.5AH (hand help LED light) two 2.5AH (impact and hex driver) and two 5AH (fan and stationary light) in use. the two 9AH were not called.

i am thinking about getting one of the M18 6AH batteries when they are thick on the ground. did they update the 2.5AH batteries? might punt the 1.5 and replace it with an enhanced small format one if they did.

Thought about the 2.5's for the vacuum and the impact just because of less weight. Not sure of the run time I would get in the vac though. Not sure how much use time will be put on the impact, it was just too good of a deal to pass on. Already have 2-9.0's for yard tools and one 5.0 for my fan.

On M18 isn't it 1.5 and 2.0 on the compact, then 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 on the XC, 9.0 high demand, and now 6.0 and 12.0 high output? Never heard of a 2.5...

How does that work? Do you show your online receipt and so they not prorate the refund based on the bundle? Will they take a return without a receipt and what are the limitations there ?
I meant in store. There is a cardboard stand in an isle with those tools and the batteries.

This. There's no 2.5, unless they're talking of the "original" XC's which are referred to as 3.0 but I thought they were technically 2.8 -- and I could be wrong as I don't presently have an old-school XC in front of me to figure the amp hours based upon stated watt hours.....but the -1828 part # is what always made me think that.

eg 5.0 is -1850, 9.0 is -1890 etc

I have 4 of the original XC. 54wh/18v = 3.0ah

Thanks! Been waiting for a while to pick up an M12 Fuel Hackzall. $64 shipped is a deal!

Just spent the day doing a project where I wish I'd had one!

You'll love it! I have the M18 Fuel version but they're both great saws and big improvements over the non-Fuel models.

I used the coupon code along with a $25 ebay card I got from cashing in my Speedway points and ordered an M18 Search Light for $56 with tax.

Will they give you the full amount for a package item in-store? Say you bought the two bare tool and get battery free combo, uf you return one of the tools will you get the regular tool price or whatever percentage of the total you spent to account for the batteries.

Not to sound like an ****, but do you think they would? Read more of this particular thread and I'm sure you will find your answer and perhaps a way to find out exactly how much you'll get back. Hint, look for my posts

Actually it was your post about the trimmer and blower that confused me. I wasn't sure where the numbers were coming from but I got it now.

Ok, good to hear you didn't totally willy nilly ask. Haven't slept more than 8 hours in the last 2.5 days, none of which recent. Tired / cranky just a bit

HD has the Gen 1 blower with a battery and charger on sale for $149. Anyone know how it compares to the Gen 2? Ive been eyeing the blower for quick cleanups, and I've been wanting another battery/charger to add to my collection.

New one is better, but not leaps and bounds. The Milwaukee tech I spoke with says they changed the design and got more mph or CFM. I've never seen Milwaukee update a tool so soon after release, so definitely better, but that is a good deal you came across. Even looks like a rapid charger is included (from the pic)

If you already are set on batteries, I'd see if you could snag the Gen2 for $100 or less, and go that route.

Thanks. I am torn. I only currently have 2 5.0 M18s and one charger. I'd love a third battery and charger. I also can't find the Gen2 blower for under 100 anywhere. seems to be more in the $149 range.

You're going to need that 9.0 with the blower. If nothing else, buy it for the battery and charger and sell the blower on the cheap.
