Re: Milwaukee M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit $149

Milwaukee 5-Tool M12 12V Drill/Impact Driver Cordless Combo Kit $149.25 on Google Express. Need to go to Home Depot store. Use code EXTRA25. Shipping is free Price $199-$49.75= $149.25 + TAX. Tax varies state by state. Seems like a decent deal
https://express.google.com/product/14475991689388100985_14663893317752544590_8740?oc=OgQ4NzQw

I used this for a 3/8” impact and two 5.0 batteries today, $234 with tax. Probably saved $20-30 over buying separates on eBay, and there wouldn’t be a warranty question on a Home Depot purchase. Thinking about grabbing the M18 fuel Sawzall with the 9.0 battery if the coupon works twice.

Never mind, only 1 coupon code use per customer.

There's no warranty question anyway until beyond 5 years from date of manufacture as easily deciphered in serial #. I NEVER include proof of purchase for warranty claims if within that 5 year window/ 3 years on XC batts

Okay, so I haven't been paying attention because I didn't need one. Now I do.

Without me scrolling thru page after page of this thread, does anybody know of a good string trimmer deal that is still current? I already have a gen 2 blower but I could use more M18 batteries.

A million thanks!

I just used my combo kit this weekend for the first time. I got the weed whacker and the blower kit with the 9.0 battery. I have a 1/4 acre lot and I didn't have a HUGE amount of edging and whacking to do. The trimmer and blower off the single 9.0 battery lasted long enough for me to do everything I needed to do start to finish. When I checked the battery life left after I was finished it was on the lowest bar and needed to be charged. I don't think I would have gotten a lot more run time out of it. If you need to use the string trimmer for prolonged periods, I would go with a gas one.

Was it fully charged? I have 3 acres that I mow and trim about 2/3 of it around buildings, trees, and edges. I can weedwack for 40-45 minutes and use the 9.0 on the blower for 10 minutes after to clear the driveway. Still with one bar left.

Yes, it was fully charged. I used the quick charger that came with the kit. Checked the battery at the start to make sure it was still full after sitting for a week.

Might sound like a dumb question but did you charge it? I just got this same kit yesterday in the mail. Batt was dead out of the box (1 bar). It was raining but I'm planning to mow/trim/etc in a day or two.
This kit is replacing my Black and Decker 40v trimmer that had battery to spare at the end of doing my 1/3 acre lot.

My understanding is the thing can trim plenty larger lots than mine.

(I dont want to drag this out on this thread as its for deals not products so I wont be replying about this anymore, FYI)

So are you complaining that you used the same 9.0 battery on both the blower and the trimmer, the battery had been sitting for a week, and you got everything done you needed to do with some battery leftover? :headscrat

A battery sitting for a week after being fully charged shouldn't loose much, especially if it is a brand new battery. The amount of use I put the battery through and the amount of charge left when I was finished were not congruent with my expectations. If I had a larger property or had a different layout that required more use of the trimmer/blower I wouldn't have finished on a single charge. Based on what I'd read I was expecting the battery to have about 50% left after I was done, not 25%.

What I'm confused about is why you think I'm complaining. I'm giving an honest assessment of the run time. If someone else needs to run a string trimmer/edger for a long time, they should go with gas, not battery.

I didn't catch it at first, but you also used the blower. It isn't the string trimmer that ran the battery down. That thing is a champ. I've done a TON with it on one battery, sometimes only a 5ah. The blower's aren't efficient on a battery & eat them up. Both the string & hedge trimmers go forever on a 9ah. I don't even want to think about testing run time with the 12ah arriving tomorrow

I did put some of the Milwaukee string in our gas trimmer, and was much better than I remember. It did have more power than the Milwaukee after using it again (I probably am biased to Milw), BUT the Milwaukee has handled anything I have thrown at it, and I hate smelling like assoline. It also seems to have a better designed head from winding up longer cuttings (compared to my older high end Echo).

Milw deal: super sawzall on ebay for $400, - 15% (code PRIMOSALE) - 2% ebates

Hmm, interesting. I'll have to double check the battery life when not using the blower. I'll be doing some more yard work this weekend so I'll try and out again and report back using just the weed whacker.

Blower needs a 9.0 20-25 min, I had the blower eat 3 bars on a 5.0 in 5 min other day.

Yeah, I don't have the Milwaukee but my Ego will kill a battery in 10 mins on the highest setting. My string trimmer will run three times longer.

International Tool......MILWAUKEE 2492-22 M12 CORDLESS DRILL /DRIVER AND ALL-WEATHER JOBSITE RADIO KIT INCLUDES 2 BATTERIES AND FAST CHARGER. $99. Free shipping on $149 and up.

https://www.internationaltool.com/milwaukee-2492-22-m12-cordless-lithium-ion-2-tool-combo-kit

just a standard 12v charger is included. It is a great radio though. I am actually torn whether to keeping just use this, or keep my new M18 charger radio. My only wishes on the 12v is USB charging & Bluetooth, though I might be able to Frankenstein both into it. One thing I can't figure out why the 18v only has 5 radio presets & the 12v has 10.

I am surprised the cost on the bare radio hasn't dropped at all. $100 is a little much in my opinion, at least for its current features.

To follow up on the battery usage complaint, I used the weed whacker again this weekend. I'd say I used it about 2/3s as much as I used it before and it went through about 1/4 of the total battery life. Looks like the string trimmer's life IS better than I had though.

This deal is going to get claimed before time runs out. IF you don't mind 3rd party battery packs, here is 2x 2.5ah M12 batteries for $18. hard to beat that if they do what you need. Most testing results show 3rd party batteries perform close the same, but do not operate near the temperature range that a genuine battery will.

Thanks for that! Got my first M12 tools arriving today, so ordered that pack (even if they don't end up living up to the claimed rating, they're cheap enough that'd be worth it to me - and they've got good reviews).

Thanks, I ordered one of these as well as a 2520-21xc m12 hackzall kit for $94 after eBay coupon to kick off my M12 assortment. I am impatiently waiting for the stubby impacts to be released...

Picked up another Fuel mitre saw for $499 Cdn here. Had to wait a LONG time to get any employee to get onto a cart, but well worth it.

Immediately returned the 9 Ah starter kit that was the free promo and got $184 and change refunded to me.

Also got given a customer satisfaction $50 applied and the saw worked out to be $265 out the door. Considering I sold (30 minutes before buying the 2734-20) my single bezel Craftsman mitre for $100 (exactly what I paid it for during their liquidation) it was a very good deal for me.

Is $80 for the M18 wet/dry vac a good deal (current eBay promotion)? Or am I better off holding out for something better? Not in a huge hurry for it.
