M12 Fuel kit with 1/4 impact and ratchet for $170 worth or better off waiting for a deal with the 3/8 impact?

Any real reason to spend the extra $60 on the drill/driver to be included too? I already have a bosch 12v drill/driver that I just got a light for so I'll probably hold onto it.

edit: Apparently its a hammer drill

First, it would help if you linked to the particular kits. If I am getting the kits correctly, not only are you getting the hammer drill, but you are also getting a 2 & 4ah battery, rather than two 2ah with just the impact. It is a much better buy getting the 2 tool kit, rather than just the impact or drill by themselves imo.

Waiting for a deal for the 3/8" wrench is all on you. Everyone has different needs. If you need to drive larger lags or take off lugs, I'd go the 3/8" route, and get a 3/8" to 1/4" hex adapter. But if you are doing a lot more smaller fasteners, I'd want an 1/4" impact driver. The ratchet is a nice bonus tool, as most of us have ratchets already capable of handling anything that tool can. So less of a necessity than having something than can drive the fasteners you are working with.

HD deal on 8/10

I received an Ace Hardware flyer for 15% off regular purchases this Friday (8/10) as well as other offers through the weekend. I always use them at Home Depot without a problem. I plan to get the new 2732-21 Circular Saw kit, which is $399. Then in my area, they are doing the 11% rebate match to Menards. So potentially get the kit for $340 + $37.40 giftcard. Not to bad

Watch the rebate. I used a coupon in store and rebate was denied because only one promotion was allowed

For whatever reason, my local Home Depot had a 2997-22 kit (gen 3 drill and 1/4" hex impact) marked down to $349 on a yellow tag and put with the clearance items. I suspect that the employee that did this thought it was a gen 2 kit. Weird.

I’ve seen this also at a few stores around me, including a few in the packout case.

Can't complain about an easy $30 off. Can be had on HD.com for $379 with a third 5.0 battery thrown in for "free".

What is everyone using to hold the trigger down on the portaband in a swag stand? I have been using a ratcheting Bessey plastic clamp, it works, but not great...

A hose clamp would probably work and could be easily adjusted with a nut driver.

The newer rocket light is on sale with a 5.0 battery. This one is updated from the older version from what I can tell in that it can be powered externally or by a battery but it doesn't charge batteries:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-305905313-_-305883641-_-N

I am hoping to get the 3000 rocket light which also is a battery charger on sale sometime. I seem to recall it was on sale a while back for 150 or something?

I'd rather have 2 of the 2131-20, than the 2135-20. The charger adds unnecessary weight, and the 3 heads create shadowing if all facing the same wall.

I got my 2131-20 for ~$90 today, the Rover light for $75, and grinder for $63, all before the 11% Menards gift card match too :bounce:

Nice! Where'd you get the 2131 for that price?

I've noticed that the M18 12ah batteries have settled in at $125 each in my local Craigslist and OfferUp. It seems to have driven the 9ah batteries down to below $90 also. It will be interesting to see what the 4th quarter Milwaukee factory deals cause to happen.

Anyone know anything about the Milwaukee Packout Onekey combo kit at home depot? My local one has two of them up in the rafters, cant find them in the app or website, so I'm wondering if they're clearance items worth attempting.

Just want to know if its worth asking them to bring it down or if I can expect the old full price.

The HD by me has this on clearance for $450 down from $499. Not a great deal.

If they're still there in a month I'll ask them. $450 is a good deal if its the combo that includes 2x 5ah batteries and the 9.0ah

I could sell my current fuel gen 2 non-onekey drill/impact and fuel sawzall to recover most of the cost.

HD. Used Ace 15% off on the light only, so the free battery kit promo would still take apply. Checkout girl was really nice not applying the 15% off to the whole order, which would prevent the $150 from coming off.

I have been researching this and trying to figure out exactly what you did.

I would appreciate any assistance in replicating this deal if at all possible.

Are you referring to https://www.acetool.com/Milwaukee-2131-20-ROCKET-Dual-Power-Tower-Light-p/mil-2131-20.htm

I found a 10% coupon (BLKWH10) for Ace Tool but not a 15%.

Do you go to Home Depot and tell them to price match that site with the coupon applied?

https://www.homedepot.com/c/PM_New_Lower_Price

Thank you.

No one's math is adding up here...

~90 would be 106 before a 15% coupon

199 turns into only 169 after a 15% off

HD will not PM and allow coupon

So are you guys really that bad at math, or just making stuff up here?!!!

My math is good. Knowing where I put the receipt, not so good.

Ace hardware had an ad this weekend that included a coupon for 15% off your purchase on Friday. I brought it to HD and they took 15% off the light. So new base price for the light was 199 x .85 = 169.15

So 169.15 x (169.15 / (169.15 + 149)) = 89.93

Then I'll get 11% gift card because HD offers the same promotion when Menards does, so another $9.89 back, or under $80 in the end. I don't include tax as it varies

Best now is use the Ace coupon for 25% off 1 item under $50, or $12.50 off over $50.

186.50 x (186.50 / (186.50 + 149)) = $103.65

That coupon ends today 8/13.

This will work on the Rover light that also right out with free 5.0 starter kit, or the fuel grinder for $149 (dropped $20) with free 5.0 battery ($129 ring out value).

Where is the best place to buy a blower? I could use another battery but I don't have to have one with it.

Can you explain where this equation is coming from? Still not getting where $170 turns to $90. Does it have to do with returning the starter kit?

169.15 x (169.15 / (169.15 + 149)) = 89.93

When I bought my rocket light last week I just returned this free starter kit. That's how I got mine for a little cheaper

How much did you get for the starter kit return? Trying to convince myself it's a better buy than a new bulb for my cheap HF worklight

I have just stated what the value on the receipt gives for the light, not advocating one way or the other on returning the kit, but when a 5.0 can be had for $50 elsewhere....

The promo is you get a free starter kit. Nothing is free, so HD takes off $149 off both items. In order to find the percent off you take what you will pay for both items (in my case 169.15) divide that by what the total value of the 'free' & paid for item are (149+169.15), then multiply that by whichever items cost to get what the price that will be assigned on the receipt.

The lower you can get the paid for items cost down. Like the 15% in my case, others could use military & ask nicely about appying 10% just in the one item, so they get a discount & the promo, but luxl of the draw on cashiers.

I think that's it for replies on this topic from me. I liked math, but can get sick of it too. :). I included a pic of the receipt.

That makes sense, since you returned the 5ah starter kit for their assigned refund value of $79, bringing your net cost of the light down to $90.

So how did you get 15% off in the first place? I've never seen a 15% off coupon for HD.

Thank you for explaining everything.

How often does Ace Hardware have those coupons?

I guess I need to look through their mail advertisements in the future. That is a good tip to bring the coupon to Home Depot for a price match.

Ace hardware coupon. I don't think I've ever had a problem with HD accepting one, maybe need a mgr to help a newer cashier out, but I've always used the coupon there over Ace hardware. Yesterday/today it was 25% off one item under $50 or $12.50 above $50.

So I used I got $12.50 off the m12 inflator w/ 2.0 battery tonight. Used all gift cards from previous 11% Menards rebate match offers, and will get another 11% back from the purchase tonight, as well as last Friday light & grinder purchase. :bounce:

They don't accept other stores' coupons, otherwise everyone would be using a 25% off Harbor Freight coupon every time they went in there. Not sure how you pulled that one off.

It is a YMMV with them taking another stores coupon. One issue is it must be a non-printed coupon for them to accept (that changed a ear or so ago for me). I've never had them not accept a Lowe's or Ace coupon (non-printed), and a while back I had no issues with using a Harbor Freight coupon (with the right cashier), but they now decline that one because it is a warehouse type store &/or they know they have none of the same product (similar, but none the same). Ace does carry Milwaukee, Dewalt, and many other items HD could potentially carry, same with Lowes.

I've used the Ace coupons more at HD than I have at Ace. I'd try again the next time around, worst they will say is no.

lowes sends me 10% off (and 10$ off 50$) coupons in email. not often, but regularly. i always print two copies, the local HD always accepts them (possibly because lowes is such a direct competitor, and is *literally* one half a mile down the same road).
