being bored, I wandered over to toolup.com. my cart has 119$ of stuff in it.

I tried the ship99 code, and it removed shipping from the cart.

I didn't get an email about this. I dont know if it is just today, or longer.

thought I would point it out, tough.

For anyone looking for the mid-torque Impact wrench in the HD clearance, International Tool has the pin-dentent kit for $169. Pretty good deal, even if you intend to swap to a friction ring.

The friction ring on one of my impacts seems to be losing it's holding ability. I'd be happy to take a pin-detent off anyone's hands

While it can be a PITA I do like using a pin detent.
Keeps those suicide sockets in place when using a swivel and the socket slips off the fastener.

Thanks, I really needed to get on a 3rd battery platform:(. I have lots of M12 stuff. Then I got one of those sweet $20 porter cable crown staplers, and have since added a grinder and vacuum to. Now this gets me into the M18 stuff.

Yeah I ordered one of the MTIWs from Int'l as soon as the email came out....it's just for the gf's truck so will rarely be used so I'll leave it as stupid pin detent

You and me both.

This time a year ago and for the last almost ten years I had one platform - Makita 18v.

Then I bought into Ryobi to get the brad nailer, fan, and worklight for cheaper than the makita versions.

Then I inherited the 12v bosch heated jacket and drill/impact kit I bought my dad before he passed this year.

Then I bought into M12 recently in a heavy-handed way to get a bunch of more compact stuff to compliment my 18v stuff.

I guess I also have my dad's 18v lithium ion dewalt (not 20v), and his 12v dewalt. And his Tek4 Ryobi.

If you consider them tools, I have an Ego snowblower as well.

What's next?

I ordered the M18 impact with pin detent kit from International Tool last week. I've had minimal use so far but did test taking several sockets on/off:

Pittsburgh/Pittsburgh Pro 1/2" impact sockets: went on easy, when I misaligned the pin and hole the socket came off easily and did not get stuck.

SK 1/2" impact socket: went on ok. A couple of times it got hung up on the pin. When I misaligned the pin/hole it came off easily.

Armstrong 1/2" impact socket: no issues on or off.

Craftsman USA 1/2" chrome, Wright 1/2" chrome, Armstrong 1/2" chrome, Kobalt USA chrome: all consistently hung up on the pin when putting it on. No issue getting off when the pin/hole were misaligned.

Snap On 1/2" drive, 1-1/2" chrome socket: I did not put this socket on for fear of it getting stuck on the pin. The detents in the socket itself are deeper than the other sockets I tested and I was afraid it would get stuck with no way of pushing the pin back.

why even test the chrome sockets? not like you should be using those on there anyway. I would hate to have a 1-1/2" socket explode on me

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Maybe you need a thin wall or just don't have the right impact socket. At 11:30pm when you need to get to work the next day, those chrome sockets can really save you. I wouldn't do it every day but once in a while they are the only choice.

There were some questions earlier so I just tested each of the socket brands I had. There were some questions about chrome sockets getting stuck on the pin versions so I was sharing my observations... yes I think some brands may get stuck.

I know there are mixed opinions on whether chrome sockets should be used on impact wrenches... which is a debate for another thread.

Somewhere floating around on YouTube is a video where a guy disassembled his anvil and pulled out the pin and ground a taper on the end then put it all back together. Sockets popped off much easier.

Nothing wrong with multiple platforms, the only downside I see is having too many chargers all over the place.

I've been all Milwaukee M12/18 since I switched from Craftsman C3. I like that the chargers do both 12 & 18 to save space. I recently bought a Hitachi 18v nailer and I'm looking at adding another one or two soon. Also looking at a couple new Dewalt tools in the spring and possibly some Ryobi (glue gun, chemical sprayer) as well.

Milwaukee USB Flashlight

I made the mistake of buying a flashlight during the 10% off tools last week thinking it was discounted & though I was paying another method. Worst eBay experience ever dealing with VIPOutlets . They didn't respond to my email for 4 days after requesting them to cancel the order 1 minute after ordering.

...Looks like I'm reordering the same item I'm waiting UPS to pickup

I finally received my m12 stubby kit from Acme (ordered on cyber monday). Haven't used it yet, but it's tiny! If it is as good as people say/stands up to it's rated torque, this is going to be great!

I've been contemplating a 3/8" ratchet (probably non fuel given it's smaller size) but I don't know if there is a reason now having the stubby.

Ok so if you're wanting the new 7/9" 2785 grinder this is actually a killer deal. I've noted before this has gone from $400 to $450 pretty much everywhere, presumably because of tariffs.

MSC still has it at $399 under part KF47426671 and it comes w a second 12.0

If you haven't looked into it you might assume the grinder comes w a second 12.0 at all the usual suspects (Acme, HD etc) but you'd be wrong. For some reason it was exempted from the promotion which benefits the chainsaw and table saw and circular saw at most retailers.

So, get it for the "old" price and w a second 12.0!

MB1218 will probably get you free shipping in the cart

Just bought the stubby 3/8 from CPO on ebay. Came up to 119 with the discount code. Did have to pay tax but I've been waiting on a deal so when this came up I had to jump. Should be here before the 21st.

Did anyone ever find a good deal on the table saw with the extra 12ah battery?

The last deal on the table saw was back before Veterans day when International tool had it for around $450 or on Veterans day when you could get 11% off of it. Any % off sales since then haven't included the table saw. I've been watching closely multiple times a day for a deal and have yet to see one again.

If you didn't need the extra battery you could go the HD route and return the extra battery then the saw with a single battery ends up a little over $400 if I remember correctly.

Acme had a contractor appreciation event about 6 weeks ago where I got the table saw 15% off with extra 12.0 totaling $466 and change. I haven’t seen much for sales on it since.

The HD route would work if they have them in store. I haven’t seen a single one actually in stock in store. Might just be around here though too.

I'm visiting my parents for Christmas right now and I saw a stack of the table saws at the local HD today. The local ones back where I'm living now didn't have many of them.

maybe not. notice the saw in today's discount?

15% home and garden, code: PDECKTHEHALLS. no min, 100$ max

Screen Shot 2018-12-16 at 10.19.27.jpg

EDIT: the 100$ max must be the discount. I just bought something for 109$, which ended up as 92.65$, for a 16.35$ discount.

Whenever an ebay coupon states a max value it's always the max discount, not the max price of the purchase.
