I have one and have used it many times, you must know its limits but i am not having the issues the other member does. Mine works as expected for whats needed.

Honestly though, I dislike tools that you ‘must know the limits’. My favorite tools are the ones that can be pushed, used outside the box etc. not the ones that are limited.

Looks to be (website price):

Buy this Drill / Impact & "free" Hackzall Kit $299 get a 2ah battery

Buy Fuel Hammer Drill / Impact Kit $399, get free 5ah battery

Buy Fuel Hammer Drill / Impact / Sawzall $549, get free 12ah battery

At current prices, the breakdown for each item is:

$236.51 / $62.49
$301.52 / $97.48
$402.94 / $146.06

If you are looking just for a 12ah, I would suggest going to HD before the 30th, to buy one with either the Circular Saw, Super Sawzall, or Chainsaw to get it for $133. None of these seem like anything amazing. Thanks for the post though.

Apologies, as I have just migrated to this thread after deciding to upgrade my PC setup to M18 -- do you happen to have a link for that sale? I need to maximize my initial purchase value. It is possible I scrolled right over it when reading previous posts, so apologies if so

eBay has the 12ah in the $110-$120 price range, new, with retail packaging (non-kit). I personally don't care if it comes in a kit or not, as long as it's a good deal. With that said, I have 2 9ah, 2 5ah, 2 1.5ah (for the drills). I'd love a 12ah but can't justify it yet.

note that you cannot order them like this. you need to go to a store that stocks them as separate items, buy both (the saw and the battery as separately scanned items), and then return the saw. the web pages just let you see what the deals are.

You might want to wait a bit since the new trimmer is coming out. They might be clearing the current one soon. Or you might want to wait for the new one. Also, there is a package that goes on sale with the gen 2 blower, current trimmer, 9ah batter and a quick charger for 300 which is what I got.

Copy that, I misunderstood. I translated that into the thought that there was a ~$140 starter kit w freebie

no, there is this:

12AH and 6AH Milwaukee M18 batteries and charger for 250$.

there is this:

two 5AH Milwaukee M18 batteries and a charger for 150$.

you likely can do better on ebay. you just need to be careful about getting non-milwaukee batteries. M12 batteries are just batteries. M18 batteries have electronics in them. I would be suspicious about purchasing them "off brand".

look for established sellers with lots of feedback. often they will be selling stuff that they stripped out of kits, and are selling the pieces off separately. if you want multiple items, contact them to ask for a deal. they might give you something off since they can save some on shipping, or throw in something, like a tool bag from one of the kits.

remember: usually a deal that is too good to be true is (not a great deal).

it looks like we are going to be entering another Packout sale period.

toolbarn.com is offering, among the regular kits, new kits with several pieces of Packout bundled together. not sure how good the pricing is.

here is the top level page:

https://www.toolbarn.com/shop-by-category/specials/milwaukee-specials/packout-bundle-save

here is one of the options.
https://www.toolbarn.com/milwaukee-48-22-84kit6.html/

current prices on the parts are 130$ for the rolling box, 100$ for the 15" bag. and 130$ for the 20" bag. that is 360$, while the kit is 335$, for a 25$, about 7%, discount from tool barn's unbundled prices. the rolling box was 89$ before Christmas, as I recall. the two tool bags were not discounted themselves.

anyway, something to watch for at other retailers, which might have more aggressive pricing.

I know that HD, as an example, dropped the prices for the three boxes in the "starter kit" deal (https://www.homedepot.com/p/303038736) so that if you bought them separately, they come out to about the same price as the "deal", which was 199$. as I recall, other retailers like toolup.com and acmetools.com did the same. this might be a chance for some of you who are interested in some of these items, like the tool bags, to get them at a better price than we have seen recently.

you are likely correct, the part numbers (48-22-84KIT6 on the one I called out) are certainly suspect, since I doubt that Milwaukee would choose that.

OTOH, Milwaukee seems to keep a tight grip on pricing. while you might find the rolling toolbox for 129.97$ or 129.55$, you won't find it for 128 anything. sure, some sellers held on to the 89$ "special" price longer than others, none of them offered it for less (although some offered it for 99$, as I recall). I doubt that Milwaukee cares if you price it over their authorized sale price.

so, while not huge, these "kits" are at a slight discount off the current discounted price everyone seems to be selling for. they proudly list themselves as an "authorized Milwaukee on-line retailer", so it is not like they are hiding out in the weeds, hoping to not get noticed.

ahhh, well, something to consider . . .

Ok - I'm not quick witted enough to come up with it, but there's got to be some good marketing for a nail gun on valentines day :)

Someone hit this out of the park...

I've looked into the battery powered nail guns and they are good units overall but it does seem to hit a bit too hard which damages the stuff you are nailing more than other guns. Not always but fairly consistently according to multiple reviews I watched. I'm waiting for the rev 2 of those before I pick one up. I might just grab a pneumatic gun since I need to do the baseboard molding in my house soon.

Last day for the free 12.0 at home Depot.
It looks like they have raised the online price of the 12.0 to 250 so there is a bit extra potential savings if you return the battery.

Look into the Hitachi 18v nail guns. I have three different ones (framing, finish, pin) I've been using and haven't had any issues with them. They seem to be the highest regarded of all the battery-only nailers. The M18 nailers had too many mixed reviews and swayed me away from them.

Unless you need everything to be red, then I'll bet there's some Gen2 nailers coming either this year or next.

Agree on Hitachi though the brad gun shoots a little too hard causing hairline cracks -- but, have to fill the holes anyway. I would like to find a deal on the pin nailer however - but no dice thus far.

I haven't used the brad nailer, I've got the 16 gauge finish nailer and haven't had any splitting issues.

I got the pin nailer tool-only for under $200 from Acme Tools last time they had a promo code discount.

By splitting I suppose it's better described as an indentation- 2 pix attached - one the 18ga hitachi brad nailer, the other an 18ga bostitch pneumatic. The pneumatic shoots 'cleaner' at all depth settings than the Hitachi.

Moulding is unfinished, just printed and a raw installation at present.013ecd2ed53b479c92c65838023d3348.jpg41554021047fd27b359115ece6f232f7.jpg

Milwaukee 48-22-2330 Compact 8 IN 1 Ratchet Multi Bit Driver New & Ships Free

I check this seller often, and have watched this item for a few weeks. it said "more than 10 available" until today, it appears he has sold 34, and has six left. interestingly, it seems that the number sold would never go up by one, it was aways three or four at a time, and then sit for a day or two. I kind of assume this was because people were buying more than one at a time.

I had hoped that ebay would offer a 15% off coupon, and this was one of the items in my cart. it is a great price, and with free shipping . . . . .. but 15% is 15% . . . . anyway, I didn't want to wait too long and miss out completely, so I pulled the trigger, and now am sharing with you in case you want to join in.

anyway, he is a great seller, wraps things exceptional well, and ships quickly.

[UPDATE: "more than 10 available" again.]

Thanks... I looked at it last night, decided against it. Just looked at it again and they only had 1 left, so I bought it.

That Milwaukee Table Saw is currently $499 with a M18 12.0 battery on CPO

Search for Milwaukee 2736-21HD M18 FUEL 8-1/4 in. Table Saw with ONE-KEY Kit

It wouldn't let me post a link, since I have below 5 post at the time of this post.

Yesterday SuperBowl Sunday at the New York City 23 St store in Manhattan.
Don't know if they are deals

The 2731-20 has been that price for maybe the last 4 months by me. Patiently waiting to drop more, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Several people were able to get their store to match the HD website, when it dropped to $135 a few months ago. It's been at $189 for a while, so hopefully soon.
