You are right my dad fought in Vietnam and still hasn't talked it. Seriously now that I know that is theft you are right. Never thought it about since he fought and all the men in my family minus my generation were in the military. Seriously thank you for the eye opener. I have never done that before and now wont, never has been worth it for 1k purchases or less. Thank you everyone who served and kept and keeps us safe.

If you have the HD credit card, they have a 10% off coupon that was mailed with the last bill, expires at the end of November. If you open a new credit card, they may offer the same discount. Worthwhile for large purchases.
Our HD requires veterans to have registered with the store. So the first time veteran now has a little more hassle but the store has your info after that. My father in law is very popular to bring on HD and Lowes runs. He wants his friends and family to benefit from his service in a foreign war that was unappreciated by many.

What do you guys think of the mud mixer? Is it good for concrete as well or just mixing up filler for dry wall? I can't seem to find a good deal on one. I think the best deal I've seen was a free 5.0 battery with one at HD. What approaches a good deal on one of these?

Some stores clearances them out at $100. I know International Tool had it for $120 recently, but think it's back up. Sort of a niche tool, so less deals are going to pop up unfortunately

Works well for drywall and tile, but for concrete, you'd want at least a 9 Ah battery for the power since it will drain it faster. Here's a video of a demo of mixing concrete.
For my uses, I've always just used a harbor freight cement mixer to do fence posts. At that cost ($200 or so), I use it for my needs for a few days then resell at 3/4 of the price. Much cheaper than a rental. Same with drywall lifts.

HD special but of the day has the m18 backpack vacuum with 5.0 battery for $269. The, m12 oscillating tool with a small m12 impact and charger for $99. If you'd rather have the m12 3/8 ratchet with small m12 drill and charger, that is also only $99.
I like that vacuum deal and they had a nice empire digital level.

Yeah, I grabbed the ratchet and screwdriver for $99, the 2 pc bolt cutters for $94 and the pry bars + picks for $55
My current 3/8 ratchet makes bad smells but continues to work fine, I guess I should see about warranty but it might be past 5 years. Still don't really want the huge second gens

Be sure you get the THREE rapid chargers molded into one rather than the M18 sequential, which is stupid and was basically obsolete the second it was released
ugh, I knew there was a reason why I quit following this thread....I always end up finding deals too good to pass up and blowing more money on tools! That 6 ah battery will pair perfectly with the M12 stubby that I plan to pick up over the winter for lasting a whole weekend at the race track. And the hackzall will be great for trimming branches around the yard.

It might be arriving in a separate shipment. I placed my order last night and the availability in the cart and order confirmation page said the hackzall was in stock and ships within 1 business day, however the battery "usually ships in 10-15 business days"...argh the hackzall i bought from acme didnt have the bonus 6.0 battery in the box

I seem to recall that happened with me the last time I took advantage of a promo. The 6ah was on backorder and came a week later. But I believe the packing list, email or their online order status would indicate something was on backorder. If it's not there at all, you may have to make a phone call.
