I get that, I also don't like being stalked at the store and being profiled because I'm elbows deep in a project and my "work clothes" are on. I get there is a balance and they have a job to do, but that particular home depot has pretty aggressive LP guys. (Normal looking mid 30's white dude with a clean haircut)

Lmao you must have a hard life for being profiled as a white guy with a nice haircut 🙄

You’re missing my point. The real point is I’m not buying from Home Depot because of aggressive LP dweebs. I probably just looked like the typical meth heads running around our area, messy (but trimmed) hair and grease all over my hoodie. Sorry if it came across as anything other than complaining about my experience.

Milwaukee-2554-20 stubby on ebay for $110 shipped, only 9 left.. only thing about this ebay auction is that it has a extended shipping and handling time. I ordered one, I hope I get it

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Milwaukee-...526066&hash=item2d002040fe:g:dmYAAOSw1BxeByHY

Only 43 feedback for the seller, I don’t think I would risk it.

I'll never risk something like that either. Never again will I purchase an item from a seller that lists the item location in a US state only (no city listed) & the seller is in another country. That's how I got a fake Milwaukee battery, not a generic but a straight up clone. That seller is in Vietnam.

You'll probably get a tracking number but it won't show any movement for a while. Usually a DHL tracking number but won't show up on DHL's website. But if tracked through ebay it will show info. It won't ever show original location, will just magically appear in the US & then continue with movement.

I think this is the new ebay scam but many sellers don't get caught. I could be wrong about that listing though & I hope so. Not sure if Stubbies or other Mikwaukee tools are being cloned but who knows. They tend to clone the most popular selling items which the Stubbie is. In my case it was a M12 6.0 battery.

I did get my money back from ebay though but it took a month.

I’ll keep you guys updated. Looks like the seller sold all 49 of them already. Did anyone from here order one ?

I didn’t notice that the seller is in Vietnam. Another part of eBay says USA seller ? Plus it says ships from California.

Member profile states that seller has had the account since 2018 and originally in Vietnam (appears that is where the seller may have been born?). Looks like the items ship from "El Segundo, CA 90245". Might want to verify that they aren't refurbs sold as "new", though.

Yes please do.

Same case for the fake battery I got. Said US seller, ships from CA (no city listed) but profile said member since x-x-x in China.

I happened to be one of the first buyers for the batteries and after looking at the listing later the seller sold over 20 of them & had good feedback. If I had seen that many sold for a lower price than everyone else I wouldn't have made the purchase.

Not saying you might get something questionable but it makes me wonder how somene can sell 49 brand new Stubbies at such a low price. How/where do they get them? I get that some people can get inventory of refurbs or that some low lifes steal them & sell em on CL or ebay but how about those sell large quanities of "new" items at low prices. I mean they can't be authorized Milwaukee sellers, Milwaukee regulates the pricing margin right?

From my understanding, the profile lists the country where the seller created the account in. I've been an ebay member for a long time so I don't remember how the registration works. Does it of of IP or does it go based on the info you enter in?

Just fyi for people looking for milwaukee tools. I get all mine brand new off facebook marketplace for cheaper than anywhere. I'm around Houston but I've seen other big cities with the same deals. Just picked up my stubby m12 for 120 and my big milwaukee impact for 160.

Only problem with that is your warranty is now based off the manufacture date and not the purchase date.

But in all reality, if an item is going to fail, it is far more likely to fail on the front end of the manufacturer's warranty period than it is on the back end. So that usually makes very little difference in "risk" as long as the item is not quite a bit older.

Have to say my personal experiences with Milwaukee Cordless tools doesn't support that claim at all...

I had 3 different tools each go down at almost at the very end of the 5 year warranty period/ ALL the tools were in their 4th year of MY ownership from purchase point. I did have the purchase receipts from legit dealers.

One was fried circuit board, (impact wrench just went dead) another was a melted motor/armature (grinder started smoking) and the 3rd (impact driver) was cutting out while depressing the trigger, but they never did really say what the problem was with that just gave me a new tool :pimpflash

Understand and it can happen. It's just not statistically common for three of three tools owned (100%) to fail late in the warranty period.....that is for what one would consider to be a solid performing product used under expected circumstances.

The way I'm seeing it with much of these new tools it is all about life expectancy of the circuitboards, they pretty much control everything on these tools now.

When I worked in the electronic industry we used to do life cycle testing of our various components for heat, vibration, and shock and we knew just how long stuff could last. Failures straight out the door were more uncommon as everything was final shipment tested before

Hopefully I don't get anymore for a while

Trying to get the Home Depot $199 promo for the M18 battery starter kit, plus one free tool for $199. Went to my local HD today and they showed five of the starter kits in stock and three of the sawzalls.

Hard to imagine their inventory is that far off, but the guy that was helping me couldn't find any of it. He did say there was a truck there that would be unloaded tonight, but who knows if that's really the case. Any input/ideas on how to proceed with this? This is the only store within sixty miles of me. Really want to get this from HD, because I have a $100 gift card.

Found it in stock at an out-of-town HD while traveling on the holiday. Got the battery starter kit and the sawzall for two bills.

That was a nice surprise. I had been looking to add that and saw the email from CPO and thought...I wonder if the $20 coupon code will stack. Low and behold it does! I created a separate thread to highlight this deal before it vanishes into the ether.

Didnt even click the link. They popped up in the mix of a ton of legitimate retailers with an insane price on brand new product. No idea how they get listed so high, so fast on Google's search algorithm, but it's fake. Look at all the tools, I imagine they are around $60-$70.

Jeezus. This comes up twice a week. Scan the website, find the address listed under the contact us page. If the format doesn’t set off a red flag, google the address, review the results and then decide.

The multi-tool at $100 is an alright price. I picked up 5 @ $85. Tool alone could be had for $70 when bought with starter kit (not sure if still going). I gifted a couple of the tools, but needed bats/chargers to pair with other Milwaukee items I wanted to get rid of. If you dont need bat/charger/bag, I'd probably lean toward bare tool if you get at $70 or less

HD in-store promo is buy the 12ah ($199) and get the 8ah ($169) free. That comes out to $107.61 for the 12ah and $91.39 for the 8ah, based on return values. You can return one afterwards if you want.

The 12ah is incredibly heavy, good for the vaccuum. I use the 8ah in the circular saw and weed whacker. 5ah for impact, and sometimes the little 4ah for drills to reduce weight.

I'd rather get the HD deal but I can’t seem to find it.
