You gotta remember that there is no gas in the area. Everything should be contained in the pump and hoses which should be a sealed system. If you have a leak, you could have a problem but the casing of the charger should keep most things out of the way of a spark other than maybe fuel vapor. If you build it right and heat shrink the connectors, even fuel vapor shouldn't be able to catch an arc/spark.

Draining a fuel tank to put fresh gas in without getting stale gas all over you is one good use case. Priming a carb'd fuel system or flushing fuel lines is another. You can use it simply as a transfer pump for just about any fluid with a similar viscosity to gas. Coolant is another that comes to mind. Very useful overall I'd say.

The Makita track saw is the only non-Milwaukee cordless tool I own. I went to a local hardware store to order the corded version to avoid multiple battery platforms (it only gets used in the shop anyways). They had a deal on the cordless with two extra batteries (total of 4), the short track, and the mid-length track for $50 more than the corded with the short track. Worth every penny.

Are you talking about the cordless Bosch track saw? I just purchased the corded unit (made by Mafell in Germany). I considered the cordless, but it doesn't have the best reviews from what I've seen. The Bosch *track* that the saws ride on seems to be generally regarded as one of the best, if not the best.
I don't see the point in a cordless track saw, although I have been open to the idea. If I'm going to have a vacuum hose hooked up anyway, then what is the benefit of a cordless saw? I'm a bit mystified why so many people are holding out for a cordless Milwaukee...
At first I thought you were just referring to a cordless dust collector with remote activation, but now I see that you are just making a funny.
Anyway, Milwaukee just announced their next-gen cordless dust collectors, but they do NOT have remote activation built in! This is a huge miss if they are actually releasing a cordless track saw!

Is the current home depot M18 Drill / Driver / battery combo a decent deal at $50 off (399 to 350) or should i wait for a larger combo or larger discount later in the year? I haven't been following the M18 stuff for a while so unsure what's considered the "buy now" threshold.

I'm in the same boat. But once you open that door it's a slippery slope. I'm staring at a stuffed home depot cart with both M12 and M18 deals and trying to talk myself off the ledge. Issue is that when I finally determine I NEED a tool it's never on sale so this is speculative purchasing.
Seems like you can get some decent 20-30% discounts stacking the right combination of tools for the buy more save more but adds up fast. Their marketing team has tool psychology nailed.

Just log into the Home Depot app and search for the Deal of The Day. On a regular basis. The prices listed in the morning are good until midnight, or when stock is depleted. Delivery is generally free, if you meet minimum cart price totals.
Most of the times when tools come up as a deal of the day the deals are ok, but not that great, but if you have patience, you may score.
I picked up the M12 Fuel high speed ratchet with one battery and charger for $159 a month ago, then a bundled M18 mid torque impact wrench and M18 deep cut bandsaw for something over $300 a few weeks later.
Not Black Friday prices, but all three were on my want list, and the prices reverted to something a lot hire the next day.
You have to know what you’re looking for, and understand that not all are really deals. Look for items between 30-44% off and you’re doing ok on pricing.

If you're drilling the occasional holes through a stud or joist, it'll be fine. If you're looking for near continuous operation (think 1" ships augur bit, 24" long, repeated full depth holes) the 5.0 batteries won't deliver without overheating - even if you have 5 of them in rotation. Eventually the drill itself will overheat. With the newer 8.0/12.0 batteries designed for higher discharge rates, this may be less of an issue.
I ended up returning the cordless and buying the 13 amp corded version.
