I have a M12 ratchet now and use it a lot, is the Fuel worth buying? I could probably resell my M!2 but if its not markedly better I don't see the point.
The 1st gen Fuel, hell no. The High Speed Fuel, probably not worth it much over what you have now. Head is pretty much the same size, it'll just be faster (rpm) & a bit better runtime. I had the 1st gen Fuel so the HS was a big upgrade for me IMO.

I think it depends on how you use it. What I've heard about the original M12 ratchet is that if you use it as a ratchet to break things loose and over do it, you end up breaking the head eventually. If you use it just for light duty stuff then it isn't an issue. If you want to crank on it then I'd say the newer high speed fuel is the place to go. Most people seem to not like the first gen fuel ratchet.

I have the 3/8 high speed (2567)--although I occasionally install the 1/4" in anvil (to make a 2566) if I am doing lots of small panels. It is a great nut runner, but as to spec, not a lot of torque, With the power off, you can use it manually break nuts/bolts and then spin them off. I have put a fair amount of strain on the handle and so far so good, nothing broken or loose. I have noticed that I often need to manually break nuts that I spun on with the same 2567. At least on my copy, the forward (tighten) seems to be slightly more powerful than the breaking force. Don't manually crank on the handle while applying power.

The current non-high speed (2557/2558, Gen 1 fuel) has a larger head and I found it far less useful for confined spaces, and it doesn't feel as balanced with the larger head--even though it isn't really that large. The guy that does our generator work uses these when an impact isn't called for and likes them a lot--open bolt patterns. I recently got rid of the older 3/8 (2457), possibly a mistake, but trying to downsize. If I hadn't had the high-speed version, I would not automatically upgrade to the fuel high-speed version. Older version just works, the heads are a similar size, more torque, less battery life, fewer two-step: manually turn to break, and power run the nut off. However, if you are already manually breaking nuts with the older version, you will find the high-speed body stiffer and, as far as I can tell, stronger. If they come around at <$150, or ebay consider it, but I wouldn't upgrade for the sake of upgrading. Money saved  money spent elsewhere :)

You can get an m12 6.0 battery as your free gift. The other 2 options are kinda meh. Saw this on SD earlier today and it made it to the front page so I thought I'd post it up here. Apparently also available at norther tool as well.

Plenty of deals from Home Depot today. Particularly the M12 batteries, there's a lot of packages of 2 6.0 batteries with a tool for incredibly cheap.

Promo started yesterday for M12 tools. Buy one of 2 starter kits, get free tools. Basically what all the M12 options are for DotD are what the promotion is for the quarter, but you are saving an additional $10 today

There are a few interesting deals in there that aren't part of the m12 promo. The m12 promo is a better buy if you want to return the batteries for cash and get the tools for cheap.

I purchased a couple m18 tools with free battery offers a couple days ago. They were delivered today and since I was driving to HD for some paint, I threw all the batteries in a bag. Took me 2 minutes to return all 4 batteries. The cashier just needed the order number and processed the return. No muss, no fuss. I know some guys do the whole purchase and return online but I've messed it it up more than once.

Has anyone used the little M12 light? It looks like it could be handy. I've got the USB rechargeable pocket rover but that doesn't run on M12. I'm wondering how that one compares? I do really like my pocket rover though. I like the articulating head on the M12 light which is why I'm thinking about picking it up.

I have had the small "rover" M12 light. Its pretty handy and worth having. You can articulate the light a bit, it has a reasonably strong magnet on the back and charge a phone or other USB device from it as well. Well worth having it in my opinion.....

I love mine, I use it daily in the shop and is the only Milwaukee tool that can utilize the small 2.0 or 3.0 batteries without burning through them. I've left mine under vehicles 3 times while going for test drives, two of which it hung on and the third it did not lol. Needless to say I was more than happy to buy another one. Light output is great, batteries last awhile, and it's handy

Sounds like you're talking about the Rover Service & Repair light? If yes, I love mine. Was an impulse buy when I was at HD one day. Thing comes in very handy for me & I have no complaints about it. Stands up much better with a XC battery of course but doesn't need a XC. I have a fake 6.0 battery so that is dedicated to this light. Magnet is strong.

I also have the USB Rover Pivoting light. I use that one just as much but of course it doesn't have as great runtime.

I've got it, it's really bright, and spreads light well. Of course it's a bit heaver being M12 but the magnet on it is quite strong. The articulating LED panel gives good options at aiming the light where you need it. It’s a good light, I have no issues recommending it.

Looks like the cheaper of the two M12 battery packs gives you the better discount on the tool with this promo. I'm gonna grab this light:
After discount the tool will be 44.95. I figured the more expensive battery kit would net the bigger discount but maybe I've got the formula messed up in my head?

I ordered. Might return the batteries. I like the little usb lights and have 3 or 4 and extra batteries but run the batteries dead doing car projects. Have M18 tower lights and M18 rover and stick lights but don’t seem to reach for them as much for car projects. The M12 battery might give me the several hour run time since need. I have the M12 under hood light and like it.

Home Depot needs to **** start a shotgun. I don't know why they even exist in Alaska, they are pure ****.

Can't order Milwaukee stuff, can only buy what they happen to have at the store. Generally it's the basic stuff... saw, driver, drill, maybe a few other things once in a while.

For everything online...

I have had to go "black market" to get most of my Milwaukee tools. 95% of the places that sell them won't **** to here. And that's just the tool, so no concern about HazMat with batteries.

I do need to get more batteries, they are hard to come by!

What discount is that? It's $69.00. 10% military would only get it down to ~$63.

That price is the result of buy something/get something free hack. Home Depot has deals where you buy a tool or battery set and you get to pick something free. Since they are separate SKUs the system prorates the value of the free tool over both purchases. So in this case it assigned a value of $45.38 to the tool. The purchaser then returns the battery kit for whatever the return value was assigned to it.

If I ever get fired from my job and get to realize my dream of driving to Alaska. I'll bring along some Milwaukee with me.

Dumb question, but been at home lately for being sick. Are the M12 battery starter packs & free tool deals in store as well? I assume they are since its been a longer promo, but wanted to check before venturing out tomorrow.

Just started 9/5. Should be out at all stores, but could also be stores that haven't put them out yet. Should all be done by tomorrow. TTI rep's main focus the week is making sure those promo's are out

Thanks! Ordered the M18 inflator for $136 with discount (no tax in my state). It had been on my list and I was waiting for a deal like this and Napa has the lowest starting price at $170.

Is $136 (bare tool) an outstanding price for those inflators?

Thanks for the heads-up on the 20% at NAPA! I have several car projects that I need to start soon.

New tool released in that last couple months, and it has gone up $10 already at other retailers.
I bought one for my tow truck friend, and he loves it. Much more suited for his line of work over the M12.

$180 seems way to much but $130-140 seems reasonable when compared to the M12 offering. As the M12 is still slowly but surely working for me, I'd need the M18 to get a bit closer to $100.

Does anyone know what's the lowest price the m18 deep cut bandsaw goes for? I just bought one from HD with free battery for around 370 and was gonna return the battery but they won't take the return so at that price I don't think it's worth keeping ...

I saw it on Home Depot a few days ago during Buy of the Day with an M18 Gen 3 Impact Wrench for $299. I believe that was about 45% off. They usually run the same sales again. I hope Home Depot has finally stopped all of the so called Hack Deals.

If you are eligible for return, that means you bought it in store and they are separate items on your receipt. The value of each item is what you get charged on your receipt
