Milwaukee prices on ebay?

I'm planning to buy a Milwaukee M18 drill to replace my old one, which slips in low gear. I know which drill I want, and am going to get the full kit, as I could use a spare charger, and I want the 5.0 batteries. My old batteries are only 2.8, and I don't think that they are charging up as well as they did 7 years ago when they were new.

There are lots of dealers selling these on ebay, for a wide range of prices. Some are nearly $500; some are down around $200 for the exact same kit. Retail stores are around $300. Why such a wide range of pricing? Is anyone actually paying the $500? Is there something wrong with the $200 one? Just don't want to get burned (other than already paying 200-odd dollars for a drill).

Make sure that they are the exact same part number. Milwaukee often has different revisions available, as well as Fuel/Non-fuel versions, etc.

I'd just buy from CPO Milwaukee instead of Ebay.

Aside from that the spread of prices on Ebay is something that I've seen quite a bit. Most are lower or at least in the ballpark of going rate, but there's always a few outliers that are higher than the rest.

sellers............. charge what they can. sometimes an uninformed individual will 'buy' at a higher price.
just be sure if and when you buy, the vendor has good feedback, and do buy new if your getting a power tool.
unless you're into collecting old iron, then, buyer beware!

CPO is the same price as HD. I look closely at these ads- they're all excellent feedback sellers with a lot of transactions. The UPC codes match. There are some that are 'new other', for a few bucks less, but I'm not gonna risk that.

I've bought about half of my Milwaukee tools and batteries on ebay. Like you said, make sure the condition is new and check their feedback. I always see what buyers are saying about their shipping speed too.

IMO feedback on Ebay is the key. If they sell lots of Milwaukee and they have tons of feedback at 99 plus percent you should be good. If its not as advertised send it back and make then pay the return shipping. You have to also factor the lack of tax on a 2-300 purchase can be a nice plus too.

I just got my 2860-20 Fuel Mid Torq off Ebay this weekend "new no box" for 125$. Cant wait to use it this week

EBay also has a LOT of Milwaukee stuff that ends in (80) stay away as those are refurbished and do not carry the warranty like new ones do.

So how old is it? The drill has a 5 year warranty.

I have bought Milwaukee & DeWalt cordless tools from a couple different sellers on eBay with great success and saved a lot of money. Like most people have mentioned you do have to be real careful as there are a lot of identical knock-offs out there. I always #1- make sure the item is in the US, #2 make sure its a reputable seller, #3 at least a 30-day return policy & lastly make sure it's not a knock-off. If if fits these criteria I will purchase it if it saves money.
