MIlwaukee Recon/refurb

In the past ive had some hit or miss with "reconditioned or refurbished" tools.

For example ive gotten Ridgid kits that even had dirt on them then others looked new. I no longer care for Ridgid, except for the multi tool. Time to get me a set of Gen 2 impact/drills

Does anyone know what Milwaukees recon process is?

I couldn't find any info. about what they do to recondition their tools. I'd personally just buy brand new. I don't think the cost savings on refurbs is worth the risk. If you buy new tools on sale, you will save a lot. I buy brand new tools off ebay (from people breaking down kits) a lot.

I bought a brand new Milwaukee 1/4" hex impact driver for $50 shipped. It's the Milwaukee M18 non-Fuel 18V lithium (brushed motor). Bare tool.

Though I have bought Ryobi refurbs in the past, and they seemed to be brand new even though they had R's engraved into them for refurbished.

it depends on what the tool is and what it looks like.
Refurb. tools also have guarantees on them.

All the Milwaukee refurbs I bought came out of the box looking and working like new.

I have gotten some really good products at good prices that were "factory reconditioned".

IMHO, some places don't discount refurb's enough.

Thanks for the info guys. I 'll just go with a kit on egay. Odly enough they are almost too cheap vs the stores 2897-22 Gen 2 kit is 280$. If i am lucky i can unload my dewalt stuff and brake even
