Milwaukee Sawzall Question

Hello all... Did Milwaukee ever make a corded sawzall with the dial speed control that was NOT an orbital? (and MADE IN USA)

If so, does anyone know the part number (and/or have one for sale)?

I was wondering about an older model, so I could search it out on the internet....

I have one, but it is a orbital. However you can select to turn the orbital feature off if you so desired. And it is made in the U.S.A.! One to the last of it's kind.

That is why I tell my wife that my tools are so valuable to me. I even have drill bits made in the U.S.A. It's not so easy to find American made stuff anymore. Most of the big box retailers have suppliers that source from China.

When I bought my Sawzall in 1984, Milwaukee had 2 models, a variable speed and a 2 speed. I'm not sure if the variable was all in the switch or if there was a dial control. I bought the 2 speed because my dealer said they had problems with the variable speed switch. This was back in the day where a tool model had a 5 year or greater life span. Now days it seems there's a new model out every year.

I have one from 1993 or so. It's a Super Sawzall and has the dial control with no orbital. The cat# is 6527. It's not for sale and I still grab it for bigger jobs because batteries sometimes just don't cut it. (pun intended).

None of the 6527s on Ebay have a dial selector.... Do you have a picture of yours?

I have a 3-4 year old one, with speed control knob, rotating handle, and adjustable amount of orbital action. It has a sliding switch to adjust it from 100% to 0% orbital action.

I have a 6527-21 that looks just like what ricleh posted. It has the speed dial with variable speed trigger, 0-2,800 spm, 9.5 amps, 1 1/4" stroke, quick-lok cord, and tool less shoe and blade. Made in the USA with no orbital action.

AH-HA! I didn't know to look for the speed dial on the bottom... I was looking on the top only!

This is exactly what I was looking for... If anyone has one for sale let me know, I am checking them out on Ebay...

Looks like I made a mistake.... I bought a 6527 on Ebay, and it must be an older model.

It came with a Lo/Hi switch for speed (instead of a dial), and requires a hex key for the chuck...

DRAT!


Maybe I will eventually upgrade if I need to....

i cant read the damn numbers. too small, or, they got dinged. all USA, all vs, with a rotary switch, 1 with a screw type blade clamp, the others with a quik clamp.

I have been looking for the samething. I have 2 trees that wind feld. Now they are dried out and need cut up for firewood or woodwork. Need to do before winter snow, but maybe chainsaw is better for this task?

A sawzall with the right blade is great for cutting the roots. You won't worry about ruining the chain on your saw or blade on the loppers.

cmandp, it may do fine then. A bit worried about the trunks though. May pickup a Huskvarna, bought the weed wacker 3 yrs ago and it is the best iv'e used.

I think what the -21 after 6527 means on mine. For the right price, I'd sell mine. I've been wanting one with the orbital action for a while now.

You could just chisel them apart with a screwdriver and small hammer Really though, a sawzall is not the best tool for the job for bucking trees. It's fine for pruning and cutting smaller stuff. Borrow or rent a chainsaw if you don't think you'll use one much in the future. If you think you will use one you could get a used one if it's clean. I would stay with more current Echo, Husqvarna, or Stihl models.
