I must say, I am windy impressed with these. I bought a set part# 48-22-9008
And I really think these are a mast-have today.
They don’t hold up as well as snap ons to an impact but I have yet to break one.
The lil red tray fits nicely in the drawer but until I get a set for home mine stay in the carry case.
A lot of guys here at work use the Dewalt and blue point carry cases full of sockets and wrenches, my Milwaukee sets the only one so far that won’t drop sockets out of their spots while closed.
Really is a great bang for the buck as I got mine from the eBay for about $125.

I pretty much recommend it to everyone, and there has been a couple occasions I have needed to use the square outside of the socket and a crecent wrench to get to something.

One more recommended tool if you like cheap high quality tools,
Bahco Widemouth Adjustable wrench. I got mine for $23 on ebay, and laid it side-by-side with my buddy’s snap on widemouth.
They are absolutely identical. One costs $120, the bahco $20. Everything’s the same, even the stamping, just one says bahco and the other says snap on.

Tried the same thing with Williams ratchet wrenches, which are very nice but very thick. The snap ons actually shine here in the ratchet wrench world, but gearwrench is actually stronger but with a worse tooth count.

Just throwing in what I learned fellas.

Yessir. The drawer tray is actually really nice. And the ratchet I use now exclusively because it’s not as long as my snap on, and has the just right amount of teeth.

It’s a really well thought-out design, and you’d think snap on would have better trays to hold the wrenches and sockets they sell, than those cheap chinsey packaging plastics they use.
This tray actually feels like a resin/soft plast but it’s thick and rigid.

I’ll most likely be buying a set to keep in my truck to. Again, not saying this is better than snap on, but a set of this size in snap on your looking at $800. Now $120.
I’ll buy 5 sets of these and put one in every vehicle and shop I work in.

I first saw these on an Adam Savage youtube where he was talking about his favorite tools. He liked the squared end on the socket because they don't roll away on you. He really liked the socket storage trays and carrying case on how compact and efficient it all is. If I didn't have a fairly comprehensive set of sockets today these would be on my short list for sure.

I work with a guy who has the Milwaukee sockets he likes them pretty well. He did crack one of the deep ones taking off a lug nut with a breaker bar but he just emailed and they replaced it free no question asked.

Yeah, I just watched that same video yesterday! Although odd looking the square end feature sure looks versatile. And I'm with him - most blow molded cases are way to bulky. The Milwaukee case is thin with that lift out tray for drawer use. Pretty smart. Be looking forward to durability tests. :)

The milwaukee 3/8 ratchet did quite well on the failure test conducted by clientgraphics on you tube. Keep in mind though that there's more to a ratchet's life than placing a floor jack handle on it and testing to failure. Balance, feel, endurance for the long haul are also relative.

I didn't pay a whole lot more than that for an almost identical SK set. Old style round head ratchet, though.

I like the set so far as well. I wish I would have w bought more and all sizes they offered when Home Depot was having a flash sale.
I got the full 3/8 metric and sae set with ratchet for like 80 bucks shipped. I don’t remember what the other sizes cost but they were also selling the 1/4 for 69

I plan to buy the 3/8 metric set soon - I got the 3/8 SAE for $25 at home depot on clearance after they failed to sell during Blak Friday last year with the Packout case. I have lots of Packout gear so I like being able to mix/match the tools I take with me when I go on trips or wherever. The sockets and ratchets are nice - probably on par for price when you include the packout case, but I haven't looked at the standalone set pricing.

are the squares on the sockets sizes that could be turned with the open end of a combo wrench?

the amazon photo is pretty poor but i assume the case is plastic not metal right? what about the tray? Since most of the questions and reviews talk about amazon not being authorized and having difficulty with warranty, did you buy yours local and if so what store?

you compare the case to Dewalt & Blue Point. I have the Williams (same as Blue Point) 'suitcase' 1/4 & 3/8 kit in my truck and while things do pop out of place it's nowhere near chaotic. But better than that is indeed better and I may be a buyer based on that part alone.

The case and tray are both plastic, the case seems a little on the cheap side but the tray is Thick and solid.
Yes, I have used mine with a combo wrench on the square end. I got my set from eBay for $125.
I haven’t used the carry case much as of late but I know when I did the shake test nothing moved.
The ratchet is the best quality ratchet I own that’s not a snap on.
