Anybody tried the Milwaukee tool boxes? I am looking at a double stack and a lower piece at Home Depot. I want something decent that is well made but don't want to spend serious (snap on) money for what I do. The lower has a "gentle close" door feature and they seem well built. Any thoughts? I know there are threads here about tool boxes but I don't remember much discussion on the Milwaukee....that's why I ask.
Thanks for your advice.

I really like the Milwaukee workbench with the wood top and the open top drawers, but if/when I do get a bottom chest it'll be a Harbor Freight 44", hard to beat it for $349 w/ coupon.

The Milwaukee are definitely nice, I just can't justify the extra cost.

I remember seeing some really nice looking Dewalt 52" (I think) on Instagram a while back, with a stainless steel top. But I don't know if they're out yet. Looked sweet!

Take a look at the Husky units too (matte black without the chrome handles). Virtually identical construction with deeper drawers. Drawer height is less as well and gets you more drawers for shallow hand tools. I'm eyeing the 56" toolbox and 60" mobile workbench.

For homeowner types the Milwaukee boxes are plenty stout, especially the new models. But, like mentioned above, I think the Husky "mobile workbenches" (heavier duty matte black units) have a better drawer layout.

I really like my Milwaukee tool box, it's about 4' wide, nice locking wheel, soft close drawers.

I just made a bar top for it last week.

I actually looked at those last week while I was there, I bought a 52” double stack 18 drawer Husky from them last year, and those milwaukee units look eerily similar. I do wish mine was that flat red with a big Milwaukee logo to match all my cordless tools though! I can’t say I have any real complaints about it, ball bearing slides, easy close, double slides on deep drawers, liners already installed, and room for my drills standing in the top, as well as a pass through for power. I researched for weeks before getting one, looked at SNAP-ON, MAC, General (Harbor Freight), craftsman, Seville Classics, montezuma, waterloo, and settled on the Husky.

As for price, the 52” Husky was actually cheaper than the HFT General of the same size ( I paid $598 for the 52” with top and bottom) I also own a craftsman, snap-on, and a Mac. My dad was a rep for snap-on and mac back in the day, and he actually recommended me to get it. MAC used to manufacture tool boxes for husky back in the 80’s, I’m pretty sure the boxes they sell now are made by Waterloo.

As for a bench, I’m about to buy a Seville classics ultra HD, (you can get them at sams club), all stainless doors and a solid wood top for $449 is hard to beat! And I also want a workstation from OEMTools (by Montezuma)

I included pics of the boxes I specifically talked about, and some interesting sites to view some options on! You won’t go wrong with the Milwaukee, or the Husky. Just buy the biggest one you can fit in the shop!
