Hi
I have a problem; I have a ½ Bosch impact gun 44nm / 100nm / 185nm,
but is too powerful for working on my bike, so I am looking for a small 3/8 impact.

The ones I am looking at are the,

Milwaukee M12 CIW38 23nm / 158nm

Milwaukee M12 CIW14 13nm / 56nm

Bosch GDS 10.8 V-EC ??? / 115nm

Do not know the Bosch lower Torque.

I love my Bosch but, I have been looking at Milwaukee for 10.8v
Has anyone got the M12 3/8 sd, is the low end power low enough,
Or would the M12 ¼ sd be better for the job, low power, but has
it got enough at the top end.
The Bosch is a good impact, cannot find the lower torque,

I have an M12 fuel in 3/8 drive, and I find it to be pretty useful. It has 2 power modes, and mode 1 is significantly lower power than mode 2. Mode 2 has pretty good power imo, and I really never use mode 1 for anything. The trigger is pretty easy to modulate, and if I am working on something delicate or something that needs more precession than just zapping it with an impact, I will run it down and final tighten by hand. I also like the M12 3/8 ratchet. Much faster than working by hand, but it doesn't really have the working torque to get you in trouble. Best of luck.

I have the m12 fuel in 1/4" and 3/8" and can't recommend them enough. Honestly for a motorcycle or dirtbike (I assume that's what we are talking about) I'd go with the 1/4" since you have your 1/2" for axle/swingarm/linkage stuff.

Hi
The 1/4" is only 13/56nm & the 3/8" is 23/158nm.
I like the 3/8", is the 23nm low enough for the small bolts 5-6mm
the 1/4" with 13nm looks a bit low on power.
I will use the power to undo the bolts, & the low power to tighten the bolts.
i just feel that 13nm is to small & 23nm is to big.
Do you use the low power on the guns, or the high power but use the trigger
to control the gun.
i can only afford one tool, i have 2 Bosch impact guns 18v 3 drills,
i have to many tools, lol, & 2 Milwaukee impacts, (the wife will kill me)

Bosch if you want the smallest. The M12 impacts aren't that great IMHO, it's even longer than their M18 one. Since you already have 18v stuff, I'd get as small as you can for the extra versatility. You don't need tons of power all the time.
