Hello all,

Can any professionals here recommend a place that sells adapters for the M12 polisher? Looking to fit some 6" polishing backing pad but Milwaukee strangely doesn't make any for them, only a small 3" backing pad is available.

Searching all over the web and only one dude on eBay sells M9 to 5/8 adapters specifically for the M12 polisher but for some reason the shipping is not possible to my area. Hoping someone here can recommend another source that sells them. Preferably M9 to M14 as M14 back pads are plentiful where I'm from, but 5/8 is a good option. Beggars can't be choosers. M9 is such odd size.

Thank you

I don't think the Milwuakee M12 polisher/sander would last long with a 6" wheel on it. But if I really had to have one I'd try a local machine shop.

That is the problem, local machine shops are charging an arm and leg to make one, some even refuse to do it because it is such a small item. That's why I need to look for pre-made ones.

Check on ebay there is a seller that offers a 5/8x11 adapter for the 2438 and it works real well. The sellers user ID is byranhedstrom.

Yeah, already tried him before I made this thread.
My order had to be canceled because he can't ship to me area unless I use priority shipping which is near 60 bucks. That's ridiculous for something that is no larger than a pack of matches.

Have you tried contacting him? It could just be the way ebay has setup international shipping. There's also another seller I'll link below, you may have better luck with them.

Contacted this seller on eBay asking him if he is willing to ship internationally. All I got was a big "no" from him. I'm **** out of luck.

My fault for assuming a big brand like Milwaukee would make their tools compatible with standard polishing back pad attachments. Feels like I wasted money buying this thing.

Thank you for the help though.

I have been holding off responding because using 6" stuff on the M12 polisher/sander is not what it designed for though if there is a will there's a way usually. The standard wool hook and loop bonnet that comes with the kit and goes on the supplied adapter is 4" the backing plate is 3"

Yup too bad a small machine shop operator cannot just cut and turn down a 5/8" threaded bolt and rethread the metric M9 x.75 thread on the opposite end for you.

I found it a bit ironic though interesting :D as the world is today an American made product wanting to sourced and shipped to Hong Kong. I can hardly believe shipping could possibly be all that much though I wouldn't even begin to know

I did buy from that Ebay vendor. Domestic shipping is quite reasonable. I went for the metric to 1/4 x20 thread adapter as many aftermarket small polishing backing pads are also threaded for that . Also had considered a purchase some of the others offerings for my tool the 5/8" thread adapter and the collet straight assembly
