Min conduit size for 10/3 UF?

Looking for the minimum conduit size for 10/3 UF. Will 1" work?

(Schedule 40)

Run is about 200'.

Yes that's a good size for 10-3. Maybe put a little lube on it pulling it going that far. Sometimes coding on that wire has a tendency to grip the pvc a little.

Why pull UF cable in pipe? Use 10 AWG THWN and save a lot of aggravation.

I'd much rather use THWN. Unfortunately I paid about $30 for 250' rolls of 10/3 on clearance at Lowes a few months back.

Only 2 elbows.

Why run it in pipe? Can you not get down to minimum depth?

I can, I have a sub-soiler I could put it down to GFCI depth with... but I have to run 1" for low-volt so I figured it'd be easy enough to run conduit for the UF as well.

Direct buried wire is for folks that like to do things twice.

It's not a matter of "if" but "when".

BS.

Unless it's going to be under concrete or something I always direct bury. 90% of problems are because the wire gets hit when someone is digging. In that case it is far easier to splice a direct buried wire back together than to patch conduit back together and re-pull a bunch of wire. Especially with larger wire.

The GFCI depth (12") applies to residential circuits of 120V and 20A or less ONLY.

Otherwise it's 24" for direct burial except under concrete, where it's 18"

That'd be fine, it's a 15A circuit. My plan is to put it in conduit though obviously. :)

You're making more complicated and expensive than need be.

If in conduit it only needs to 18" under the grade.
As many as 5 #10s will fit in a 1/2" conduit and you only have 4, but suggest you use 3/4" for easier pulling.
It's a heck of a lot easier to pull 4-stranded #10 THWN, than a solid 10-3 UF

EDIT: Sliding the conduit over the wire is prohibited too, in case you were thinking of that method.

When I was running wire to my garage I looked at UF-B. WAY too hard to pull in conduit. It's so rigidly flat that it will only bend in one direction. I guess if you feed it in so that you have no twists at all it might work, but I think you will have a real problem pulling a twist in that cable through an elbow. It's designed for direct bury...

To have much of a chance of pulling 10/3 1 1/4" is going to be needed, this thread is a good example of spending a dollar to save a penny.
