Hi all...

I just moved into a new house, and it's gonna need a new driveway.

About 6400 square feet of chewed up asphalt with poorly executed concrete patches from 10 years ago, and another 2000 square feet of gravel drive and parking area.... Ideally, the 6400 sf of asphalt would become fresh asphalt, and the 2000 sf of gravel would become (textured?) concrete... there is a gentle downslope to the drive, and the entry point from the road will need a little massaging...

How bad is it gonna hurt? Within a few zillion, how much do you think I'm looking at here?

:headscrat

Thanks!

Poured concrete is sold by the cubic yard. So, measure how long, how wide, and how thick the concrete is going to be. Once you have a number, call up a few concrete companies and ask them to come out, view the site, and give you a quote.

I'll take a stab at it....

dirt work, removal and prep $5000
New asphalt $10,000
New concrete $7,000

That comes to $22,000 but we have to apply the California screw factor by multiplying by 1.75, which will bring the job in at $38,500

Well my driveway is 80' X30' and I had asphalt put down, first they took up the old asphalt (nothing goes to waste) and pu the new stuff down 4" thick it was $5500, BUT that was in 2004 before the oil prices went thru the roof, I would expect to pay twice that much now.

I'm in Ct, and prices and rates here can keep pace with Cal.
