I have a lapidary drill press with an odd collet. The original manufacturer is long out of business and I am unable to source a replacement. Does anyone know of a drill chuck that can be attached to a 1/4" shaft?

I should add that the existing collet chuck is bent.

Eclipse Tools Sheffield, (owned by Spear and Jackson) makes a Pin Chuck, model 160, made from hardened steel.
It has separate collets, similar to a dremel, but made from steel. The shank is 1/4” from what I recall.

Looks like you've got a couple of things going on there to give you options. You have the spindle shaft coming out the motor to a coupler, then an arbor coming out the chuck going into the coupler.

You can find a small model #0 Jacobs chuck with J0 or J1 taper and use a 1/4" straight shaft arbor with a J0 or J1 taper, the straight shaft goes into the coupler.
The best ones are the keyless Albrecht chucks but they're big bucks.

You should be able to find a straight shaft arbor fairly cheap and a Jacobs chuck on eBay.

Search for sensitive drill chucks and you should be able to find some without the pull down option. I'll admit, I've never searched for a 1/4" straight shaft arbor but then I've never looked for one. I've had 3/8" before. You also have the option of swapping out the coupler for a different size, like a 3/8"

Be careful with runout when putting a new one in.

The shank is metric.
