Mini Drill press chuck removal

I have a mini drill press by shopcraft, I want to change the chuck to a keyless chuck, when I look inside the chuck, I don't see a screw inside, its just a hole and a flat bottom, does this mean this is a tapered mounted chuck? how do I remove this?

Most likely a Jacobs taper. Search for Jacobs Wedges, that's what most commonly used.
