I like the facom ns1600f, also branded under mac .
Hits hard with 630ftlb with good air and hose . weighs 2.8lb and is under 4.5" in length.
Astro nano guns good for price too .
Most nano guns around 500ftlb but if can get one with true output over 600ftlb it way to go and makes far more usable real world power nut buster .

Lots of choices on this subject. Check out Real Tool Reviews YouTube vid on stubby impacts. I personally have the Aircat 1055-TH that I picked up on sale from Amazon for 80 bucks. So far I've only ran into 2 bolts that it wouldn't remove, and that was on an International tractor. It has 500 ft lbs on torque in forward, and according to RTR, close to 600 in reverse.

The ones I’m interested in are the two IR quiet stubbies and the two Hazet stubbies. I have absolutely no experience with either.

I've owned and used the Astro 1822 Nano for several years now and it does pretty well loosening wheel lug nuts, steering knuckles strut nuts and bolts and even crankbolts on a 1989 Toyota pickup. Just picked up the 1823 Nano and it ever better. I'm curious to see how the Flexzilla holds up.

I have been looking at the new legacy line or air tools and there new 1/2 impact looks nice

I would not buy air tools from a hose brand.
Makes about as much sense as buying a car made by Bridgestone. Imagine being an engineer working there, developing hoses for 10 years, then they put an impact wrench on your desk. They wouldn't know a rocking dog, from a pinless, from a twin hammer.

I'll second the recommendation for the Aircat 1055. It's taken a good beating and still works.

Used on nothing but non-fleet civilian vehicles, it's handled everything except a Honda crank bolt which was easily remedied with a harmonic balancer socket (below).

I don't own it, but it's the one I've borrowed to get things done. I'll be grabbing one of the Milwaukee mid-torque's soon, otherwise I would have purchased my own 1055 by now.

I have the astro nano and really like it. I have used it to pull wheels, suspension bolts, and cv axle nuts with no trouble. It is stout for its size but does have its limitations. I know for a fact it won't press dodge 3/4 ton ball joints out. :)

I used the 1823 in conjunction with the OTC hub grappler to push out and in wheel bearings on a 2005 Toyota Avalon and it handled well.

I have the Nano as well. It is working great with 100 psi at the regulator through M style fittings and 50' of 3/8" hose. Use higher flow stuff and it would probably work even better but it has never let me down. I can get an extra .4" of clearance with low profile sockets.

I looked at the 1055 TH on Amazon,, the manufacture rates it at 500 F#
I have looked, but not found a mini impact rated at 600#

What are your primary uses for an impact ?

I have an old 1/2" CP that rarely gets used because I have to haul out my portable compressor. It is nice, but the set up is such a pain, I often just use hand breaker bar and ratchet. It is also overkill on much of what I work on.

Take a hard look at your intended use, you might find that a 3/8" Astro 1828 impact or Milwaukee M12 Fuel 2454 impact, has more uses. Spend your money on a good set of 3/8" impact socket like Sunex 3342

My M12 2454 is now my "go to" tool, especially since I have added a 1/4" hex adapter. Sure it won't crack the lug nuts loose on my truck, but a 1/4 turn with a breaker bar and they come right off.

I use an Air Cat. Would have to check the model number. When you use an impact all day long, every day, you really notice the difference at the end of the day.

Yes I have the XT mini. I really like it. I watched the videos of the guy on Youtube comparing them to more expensive models on the market. I also picked up a full size Earthquake. Very pleased with both.

I am a weekend warrior so they do not get daily use.

Another vote for the King Tony, been my daily user for a few years now, think I've needed my big IR like twice.

I have a proto J150wp-m and love it. Also used an aircat 1055 a lot. No complaints with either of them. They don't really get enough use to ever wear them out so I can't say anything about longevity. Mainly use them for harmonic balancer bolts, front end parts, and brake caliper bolts where a cordless won't fit.

That guy drives me nuts, but I occasionally click in to his videos if I'm trying to get some general info. He's a bit of a shill, and is a real Captain Obvious most of the time...but I suppose his videos have their place.

I'll be in the market for a stubby impact myself here sometime soon, for the times that I can't fit in a Milwaukee cordless. I'm a weekend warrior too, so I'll probably go the cheap route and get the Hazard Fraught Earthquake.

I think I might pick one of those up, I'm more of a monthly warrior than a weekend warrior..........lol

I agree he's dry and basically reading a brochure, but someone doesn't become a shill just because AvE says so. Harbor Freight is not watching youtube videos and sending people like this guy free tools or money to say nice things. And even if he is getting free tools from all of the manufacturers, why would he have a pony in the race?

His biggest crime is not making the videos where the tool just plain *****.

I wish they would come out with one that has a short handle and a universal air joint. I'm thinking of buying another to add that universal air line joint.
