Mini pruning chainsaws, are they safe?

I have the 18v Makita. They are almost fool proof safe. It has a thumb switch lock, and top guard. It will also stall and stop, so it has no kick back. I have cut many different kinds of branches and trees out of fence in the last month. it stops instantly, if you catch a wire, and doesn't turn fast enough to damage the saw chain, before it stops. It's going to make scout campfires a breeze.

I bought one on Amazon for my wife because I don't want her to use my Ryobi chainsaw. I'm too afraid for her. Those little ones are safer because they run slowlyer. She love her chainsaw. That's the one that uses Makita 18v battery.

F121, thanks for the photos. That mini STIHL is what the garden talk presenter had. The Mrs and I talked about this thread and possibly getting a power tool for pruning. Well, after a little consideration she decided since the new Ryobi battery chain saw is so easy to access for me, she will just continue to get me to prune larger branches as she comes across them. She said what she really would like instead is to replace our old Nikon camera with a new one. New meaning that we get one exactly like the old one but refurbished or gently used.

I have a Ryobi 18v + recipe saw and Diablo carbide demo blades work well.

I trimmed a Catalpa tree by the street fairly quickly. The limbs were blocking the speed limit sign. My neighbor was watching to make sure it didn't go wrong.
