So these seem to run about 50$ on amazon

I needed it to cut a bunch of 7/32 rod that I didn’t feel like parting off in a lathe. The stock was hard and abrasive seemed like the ticket. I didn’t want a large abrasive saw. I’ve had one in the past and I really didn’t use it much.

For 50$ (and I have multiple M18 grinder/cutoffs, I took the grinder plunge.

Good:
Reasonably stable
Slide feature has been handy
Fits my m18
Light and mobile/storable

Bad:
Assembly directions (better to use pictures on amazon link)
If you try to overpower a cut, there maybe some flex in the apparatus (so don’t overpower)

You may consider just leaving a grinder attached for ease of use (thus loss of one grinder.) It removes easily but you are dealing with 2 bolts. If it clamped, maybe I would remove. Bolts= I just leave grinder attached as I am using it so much

Overall I’m happy. I am now using it more to cut than freehand small things as I get a (more) square cut.

I leave the grinder attached at all times and toss on shelf when not in use. (It doesn’t weigh much).
I use this for small stuff, bolts, tool steel cuts etc.

I wasn’t 100% happy with the bolts that hold the grinder head only. They are in the same axis and thus the head could rotate with the heavy battery on the end or as you use the grinder trigger. If u zoom, you can see a wire I added around the grinder-cutter handle. The wire stabilized it.

Also you use both hands to both operate the cutter trigger and downcut motion. It isn’t that awkward.

I thought it would be a throwaway but it has actually been handy

Wire is hard to see, it goes under paddle trigger and across to the arm. You can see it in relation to the green arm (top right side)
