I’m looking to self-install at 24K BTU Senville Leto mini split in my garage (not insulated, 24 X 24, 15’ high ceiling). The house is located in large subdivision that has a very strict HOA so I’m somewhat limited regarding where and how the unit can be installed. The unit can’t be wall mounted and must be screened from view with a “fence screen consisting of 1 " x 6" pickets with 1 " spacing and sufficient height to screen the unit”.
One of the HVAC contractors I initially contacted quoted me $4,500 for a Daikin 18K BTU unit suggested placing it next to the “Second Floor Condenser Unit” shown in the drawing which would require me moving the fence left side wall. Moving it isn’t an issue but I believe that the NEC calls for 36” of clearance from the face of the electric meter. This puts the outlet side of the mini split condenser inches away from the fence. I could rotate the condenser 180 degrees so the outlet side faces the house (not ideal), but the Senville clearance specs call for a whopping 72” on the outlet side and 12” on the inlet side.

I’m trying to avoid locating the unit to the left of the entry door show in the drawing since this would require adding another fence screen with Architectural Board approval which would almost certainly be rejected. Ideas and suggestions greatly appreciated.
