Hi all,

I am looking at minisplits for my garage. I was contemplating a Mitsubishi but the app got a horrible reviews. This is a need for us because The gym will be located in the garage and it would be nice to be able to set it the night before via the app to turn on an hour before going out there

I have 3 mr cool units.
The app has been flawless. As long as your home wifi is set up correctly you'll have no issues

I have a Mr Cool. I had a problem that we tracked down to the WiFi module in the unit itself. They mailed me a new one and it’s been fine since. The WiFi module looks like a usb thumb drive.
The app has been great. You can set it up for different heating cooling programs for different days of the week, but you can always override it, either with the remote control in the room or with the app from anywhere. Let’s say you normally want it working on mondays starting at 8 am. You realize as you’re catching your flight Monday morning that you don’t want it to run all week while you’re away...or you want it to keep it at a different temp...open up the app and change it.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy

I use a Sensibo unit with my mini-split. From what I can gather, will work with any mini that has a remote control.

https://sensibo.com/

Has a good app, allows scheduling and also has high and low (freeze protection) settings.

Mitsubishi's internet control is an add on. The units don't come with anything but the typical remote.

looks like they only offer the Kumo now ..... I have the Mitsubshi wireless wall units made by Honeywell that use the Honeywell internet app. Now Discontinued. They were expensive.

They offer a wall thermostat -- still by Honeywell .. but, it does not connect to the internet. You still need the Kumo interface.

I'm putting three Mitsubishi units into my new build and I think using something like a Sensibo may be better.

The wall control did not control all the functions in a Mitsubishi anyway .... you still needed the remote IMO.
