Puchased a 24kbtu mr slim inverter mini split.

My garage is 32' deep 26' wide. 14'6" ceiling. The front has 2 10x12 overhead doors, the back has 4 small windows (2x3) same with the right wall which also had the man door near the front. The left wall has no windows.

The back of the shop has an open loft for storage, about 6' of headroom, and underneath i have my bench against the wall. There is about 7'6" of headroom.

I thought about putting it on the back wall, under my loft above my benches, but its too close to the ceiling and top of the windows, plus, it wont get enough air return/circulation from the ceiling being trapped under the loft.

I ended up mounting it on the left wall with no windows, about 12'6" to the bottom (heat rises right) its going to blow sideways across the shop. The keeps the compressor close and out of my yard & view.

These things arent really too critical in a big open space im thinking? As long as its up high and central to the space?

Comments? I dont have the electrical/lines hooked up yet so i can still move it.

Lower it to 8'. Hanging it that high will really throw off the temp settings. The actual t-stat is located in the evaporator. Yes, heat rises and builds. You are going to spend very little time from 8-12' off the floor. I think they call this out in the install manual. Install it where you can easily access it for cleaning. Cleaning these things is a pitn.

At 26x32, I think you are going to have a problem heating that whole area with one air handler.

Got any backup plans for when the temp goes below -20C ?

The minisplit does cooling only :) and I'll probably use it to help with humidity mostly. I have radiant for heat
