Mini Split Fitting Question

I bought a Goodman mini split system, and it came with a line set. The lines are 1/4" and 1/2" OD. The 1/4" line fits up perfectly.
However, the fittings on the ends of the 1/2" line are too big, and they read 3/4".
So I had the seller send me another line set and it was the same thing.
The valve on the outdoor unit reads 1/2", and the tail on the indoor unit is 1/2" OD.
Checked out the hardware store, and they had the same female fitting with too large of thread.
Am I missing something here, or do I just need to find the right flare fittings?
Hopefully someone is familiar with this problem, seems like the should be a simple fix.

In a perfect world, you cut the lineset and reflare the tubing using the fittings that came with the Goodman unit and not the ones that came with the lineset. This way you are sure that the tapers and threads all work properly.

There were no extra fittings with the unit, came as a package.
Trouble is that I can't find the right fittings to flare back on.

Take the flare nuts off the condensing unit and go to your local refrigeration supply company, like Johnstone Supply, and match the nuts to the line set. Take a stub of your line set with you as well. Do not use an incorrect size line-set. MSHP's are "critical charge" units and as such there is no substitute for proper specification components.

Would expect 3/8 or 1/2 depending on systems duty. You won't see a pipe bigger than 5/8 on a mini split on R410A nowadays.
