Mini split for tight spaces?

My garage is most likely getting a mini split with 3 heads. However, I was hoping 1 of the heads would be a ceiling mount for the area under the loft, which is where we are going to park. However, the space between the floor trusses is only like 11ish inches (can't recall off hand) does anyone make a slim model? If not I can try a traditional wall mounted version in a different location, but the ceiling mount seems like it would be ideal. Ducted would be nice too, but I dont want the huge air handler taking up space

Sounds like you want a ceiling cassette but most of them are thicker than a foot above their flush mounting at the ceiling surface.
I have 4 of such but I have attic space for their depth or height to protrude into.
Or in your case, you can protrude down into your garage space?

Need more info

location besides Detroit, sq footage of garage loft / mezz etc, insulation

I got a 2 ton cassette ducted from Depot - Pioneer Brand we didn’t want to have a big Ol box hanging on the wall so the cassette is in the attic and have a few registers in the master bedroom…

but it’s in Arizona and it gets 120 in summer at times.

I'll try to get some pictures soon. The floor trusses are 16 inches deep, or "high" so I dont think that is the problem. They are mounted 16 on center, but each truss is a 2x4 laid sideways, so putting that on center means there's only like 11 or 12 inches in between for room. Here's pics I have from my camera roll

Pioneer has a unit that can either mount on the floor, like a small credenza, or hang on the ceiling.
Approximate dimensions are 42x26x9, so it will not hang too far down into the space.
I will be adding a couple of these for my shop, when I get done spending money on the house. (Happy wife, happy life, etc.)

Damn. That 26 kinda kills it for me. I'm trying to get this into the last truss space, facing the front of the garage where we park. But behind it is wide open, where I plan on putting a hoist to work on cars. Here's a pic from the way back looking

I was not thinking you were trying to get it between the trusses. This is made to attach to the finished ceiling and hang below it.

Aren't they flush mounted to the ceiling? I saw some that looked flush until they were turned on then it looked like the vent opened up...

Here's a pic of my trusses from underneath, it's 11.5 inches between them

"The MLZ-KP EZ FIT® Ceiling Cassette recesses between the ceiling joists providing a clean flush-mount appearance. The slim body design fits into shallow ceiling cavities"

Yes, there are some that mount between trusses. They are called "ceiling cassettes". I am about to get one for my house. Many of the smaller ones (<24k BTU) will fit between trusses that are 24" on-center. Others have mentioned some "slim" units, but they are likely to fit inside ducts, so will need some further work to enclose the area.

The one I linked to is not hidden at all, it's a box that mounts to the ceiling, air goes in near one end and gets blown out the other, but its intrusion below the ceiling is only about 9".

I don't think you're going to get something to fit within 11.5". The Mitsubishi is the EZ FIT is the narrowest ceiling cassette I'm aware of, and it needs 16" minimum. You will likely have to get something ceiling mounted that hangs down, like Steve W showed.

Whatever you end up doing make sure you leave access for repairs. Even the best units require maintenance and repair, and - if it's buried - you're gonna be kicking yourself later.
