Mini split — how to run the drain line?

Quick question as I begin to wrap up a 9k btu mini split install.

I have the wall cover routed with a slight decline. How have you all managed the drain line?

Should I maybe cut a hole in the wall cover and then attach it to some pvc pipe out the bottom?

What are the best options here?

First of all make sure the grade is correct on the line. If there is any traps formed in the drain line it will not drain properly. Are you in a climate where the end of the drain is likely to freeze. Location is important in climate control discussions. In a humid climate they can make a remarkable amount of condensate.

I found dealing with flexible drain problematic on my first minisplit. If you get anything like mold or gunk into it and there is not a good enough flow then you'll end pu hauling your air compressor up there and blowing it out. pita.\
The three head i just installed are all exiting the same place on two walls. i put them all right into 3/4 inch pvc. Used elbows and T's to make a single run. Used blue sprinkler irrigation fittings that screw into minisplit drain and thread into T. I piped mine into a barrel to water my garden but if the end is open cover it with screen to keep bugs and nesting **** out.

On one unit it's draining into a clothes' washer box wye'd to a drain. Another is exiting sideways w/the refrigerant lines and back but I'm not happy w/the angle. I'll have to redo and send it straight back separate from the lines.

My first minisplit drain kit came with very flexible corrugated drain hose, perfect for mold to grow in, tons of surface area with tight areas in the corrigation.Another great feature, no way you could run a thin tube in it to clean it. Switch to thick walled 5/8" clear flexible PVC tube, stuff is not cheap but it beats other material which will fail. Installed within a wall , I was able to form an S trap to hamper bugs and air flow within the tubing
