I have a weird question I have a 44 x 30 x 15 ft ceiling barn in it I created a 16 x 30 x 9 foot ceiling shop I want to install a mini split system for my shop question is can i have the condenser unit installed inside the barn in the open space and run the cooling unit into the shop? The reason I'm looking at this is because barn is in the woods with easy access I've already lost the catalytic converter on my pickup truck to theft and worried someone would steal the compressor if left outside. Any Thoughts

We used to put the outdoor unit in parking garages or warehouses all the time until the cold weather heat pumps came out. We have installed condensing units in mechanical rooms and added a unit heater to supplement in the winter and a large exhaust fan to remove the rejected heat in the summer. Keep in mind using it for AC it will be pumping heat into the unconditioned side and get warm in there unless there is some ventilation.

be aware if you use it for cheap heat, the "outdoor" unit will drip water on whatever is underneath it.
