My new polebarn is 36X40. I plan on building a wall down the middle so I end up with a 36X20 shop with 11ft walls. Plan is to put 2ft of vertical foam in ground around the perimiter before we pour concrete. Planing on 1 1/2 to 2 inches of closed cell sprayfoam on inside walls then 6 inch bats with osb or plywood on walls. Metal on ceiling blown in insulation on top of that.
My question is how big of a Mini-Split do I need to heat to 60 degrees and cool to 75 degrees in central Illinois. Found a place where I might be able to get two or more used Mitsubishi 18K units for less than 1/4 of new price. If one unit would not be enough could I install two units in this space. What do you guys think? I have gotten good advice on this site before.
