The said A/C in title spit out some Blue shards of the impeller and I'm now in a bind. I couldnt shut it down in time, as the indoor fan must have popped out of it's fastening point on the right side(if facing it). I removed a lot of the front cover plates and looked inside; and I don't think I'm lucky just b/c the impeller is only broke 3".(looks like it's all one piece , could be wrong). I can reach up there and actually put the left side back in, but I'm short on the right side, it's broke into pieces on the floor. I'm in Houston and it's not exactly cool here, so what I need help with is.....
1. Anybody in the area who might sell just this part I need?
2. It also will freeze up on the outside sometimes and I'm thinking it might have a small leak because the air isn't ice cold coming out as when it first started up about 1 year ago. So any advice from experience is appreciated greatly appreciated?
3. Anyone particular I should call around here? E.g has anyone in Houston found someone to come out and be very helpful with maintenance or repairs.
Some History: I purchased the unit a year ago, had a (won't name a company here, but you might guess) high volume, big service company come out to quote me on installing it. My father(an I&E Tech/plant manager) and I had ready ran the dedicated electrical, mounted indoor unit , and ran all plumbing to spec. So all I needed was the line set cut and run the line test etc. That big company wanted to charge a flat rate $600 and change for what ended up being an hours work. The employee for said company that gave me the estimate saw my cars and the cars I was working on. We spoke for hours and at the end I had a deal to give his car a little TLC, and he'd hook it up the next day. (his off day ) . So like i said, he ran the line set, pulled vac., etc; and I was working in temps of 68 degrees in less than two hours of work.(I don't keep it there, it stays around 72-75(working hours ) and I flip it to AUTO and around 78-80 in off hours. I kept in touch with the HVAC Pro because he ended up wanting to quit his job and work with me; but ended up finding a job close to his house in another field he was night schooling for. So yes, I lost his contact info(Bummer).
So I'm on a strict deadline currently. Have a Ferrari and a V-12 Turbo MB in the shop right now. I'm doing much more restorative work than reconditioning work now and my chemicals and products won't work like they should at the current relative humidity levels. I just checked the shop temp at 3pm and it was 78, 78 degrees at 9pm too. Thanks for any help or advice .
