Mini split install question

I've been thinking about installing a mini split and I'm wondering do I have to go through the wall to run the lines?

I have a ranch style home, single story. The garage is attached but it extends out from my home leaving me with roughly ten feet of wall were I'm thinking I would like to mount the compressor unit.

I wondering if I could go up the wall, through the soffit, into the attic and back down into the garage. I'd much rather cut a hole through the soffit, and some drywall, then the stone.

You may run into oil circulation problems with that much elevation change. Go through the wall it will be more efficient and much neater if you rent a core drill to open up the brick wall. Keep it as simple a run as possible.

the little giant is not as good stick with the gobi. if you use mitsubishi an install per their installation instructions you will not have oil return problems.

That much elevation? Unless I got OP wrong he's talking about going through the ceiling then run it outside... Not a 30+ ft elevation thing. Absolutely no worries.

I bought a Boschhammer to go through CMU block and then brick. The holes took less than 15 minutes each. It was a good excuse to buy a new tool for me! You could that or rent one.

That would be cheaper than if you kink one piece of line set with all those bends.

Remember, there is a "fire rated" wall between the house and the garage. Any holes in it have to be sealed with fire rated caulk or foam.
