Mini Split Operate State

I recently had a small cottage fitted with a Pioneer mini split HVAC system:
1 outdoor unit (3 ton, I think) for 3 ceiling cassettes
1 outdoor unit (2 ton, I think) for 1 wall unit

I'm using Flair Pucks for their Smartthings integration and that part works fine.

I'm disappointed and frustrated however with being unable to get definitive info about the setpoint and operating state of each indoor unit. (I know, had I learned more about these units, I would have known in advance.)

So, is there any way to get a data feed from the indoor units that will tell me what the actual settings and condition of the units are (heating, cooling, error, setpoints, etc.)?

Thank you!

I don't have a pioneer but my systems have a remote control with a display of settings, and also a display on each of the indoor heads with all the info you are requesting, if I understand you correctly.

Yes, the Pioneer has an IR remote.

The Pucks also communicate with the units via IR.

I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) that the IR is one way only -- that is, from the remote or puck to the unit (and no data from the unit back to the remote).

If that's the case, then the only place to get definitive data on the settings and state of the unit is from the unit.

Does that make sense and is my understanding correct?

Thanks!

I think it's the heating load (hope I'm using the right term: I mean the amount of heat needed) that made it that high. It's high in the mountains of central NY and there's lots of windows.

Yes you are correct that the remote sends info to each head unit. But the head unit only shows a few things ime. So the rest of the settings are shown on the remote. like fan settings, temp display settings, louvre settings, swing settings, I feel mode, etc...

Any way to get that data out of the head units?

Thanks!

I'd love to do that on my Mr Cool Mini split as well. Mine has an IOS app, but functionality and data is severely limited. I know what I have the temp set too, but I'd love to know what the Mini Split thinks the temperature in my garage is, as well as an insight into all the other data it's got to be collecting.

I've done some preliminary web searching for any clue how to get into it, but so far have come up empty.
