I bought the 12k BTU MRCOOL DIY mini split for a room I'm building and insulating on the end of my house. I have the space and location to mount it on the ground on the back of my house, but I think I'd rather wall mount it on the end of my house instead.
Two questions about mounting it on the end of the house, which is the option I think I'm going to go for. First, is there any issue with mounting it high like ceiling height outside so it's not an obstacle for mowing? Secondly, should I buy the $50 bracket to hold it or would building a simple bracket out of angle iron myself be better? I can weld and I have the angle iron already.
I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV and I'm on a hill. It gets windy and we rarely see temperatures below the teens. If it get so cold the mini can't keep up with heat, I'll just leave the door open between the kitchen and this new mudroom I'm building and the heat from the rest of the house can migrate out there.
