Mini split sizing question

I recently built a 28' x 44' with an interior wall and 12 ' ceilings. Basically a two car and a one car garage side by side. I would love to know what size unit I would need to work with this.

Looks like you would need just shy of 30,000 btu/cooling and 60,000 btu/heating for that space.

Where the heck did you come up with those numbers?
Where is your building located? How is it insulated? There's so much missing here it's not even funny.

My numbers are close, but not accurate. Would need to know things like region, windows, shade, insulation, exposure to sun, etc to get more accurate.

Right. But those kind of differences can add up to more than +/- 50%.

I think he is dead on without knowing the rest of the info. But I dont know ****, I've only been in this business for 23 years!

Sure, but without knowing the rest of the info, would you buy the system and install it?
I can guess that you have 2.1 children and a dog too. Am I close enough?

3 and a cat so it would have worked just fine. phbsales used a basic calculation off of the information provided. I agree, more info would have helped him nail the number, but until he gives him more, that is a good starting point for him.

I used 90* and 0* F, 4.5 air infiltration as a baseline. It's going to be more difficult to cool the space than it will be to heat it. Let's face it. This isn't a space where someone is going to live, so optimum comfort isn't at stake. 60* or so in the winter is pretty comfortable.

Sorry for the delay in responding. 12' ceiling. The walls above a 4' concrete knee wall are 2 x 6 insulated. Ceiling to be blown in insulation. Partially tucked into the side of the hill. Three 3 x 3 windows along the back wall. Three r-17 insulated garage doors. no windows, facing due West. Northern Virginia along the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Beautiful here and not too far from things.
