Mini-Split - stainless steel linesets

GJ folks - does any one have any experience with stainless steel line-sets? I ordered a couple of pioneer mini-splits that came with the "ezflex" line-set which are described as flexible stainless steel but from the photos have a traditional piece of copper and flare nut on the end. While I appreciate not having to worry so much I had not heard , nor found a many posts | youtubes | anything really about whether people like them or not.

I don't mind buying a set of copper line-sets the run will be very short, I just don't want to if I don't have to.

Question what is the material their using under the stainless braid and are the flare nuts approved for the mini. Most systems the mini manufacturer wants the installer with the nuts that come with the outside unit.

Pioneer supplies the linesets with their splits. One would hope they approve the use of them with the splits they provided them with...

Its slated to come Friday (the entire package) so hopefully this weekend I can take a look. So few people have heard of these it makes me wonder if there's a tradeoff.

I agree but it wouldn't the first time that crappy line-set (like what white insulation that breaks down and causes corrosion which lead to pinhole leaks.

I got my 608 so I guess if It fails I can replace with traditional line-set as well as refill refrigerant.

I have had two Pioneer minis installed somewhat recently. I believe the EZ-flex linesets were available (at extra cost), but I looked into them and saw they should not be shortened, so I just went with the standard lines. Did not shorten either set by much, but they both benefit by the little bit that was cut.

When I bought mine that was that the only thing available, and I just didn't read through, of course they're instock now but it's a little bit late. I'll look at them in person and decide I guess.

No issues (so far).

First one was about a year and a half ago, in the newly-remodeled family room/dining room/kitchen half of the house. That one is a 12K ceiling cassette model, as there is no wall space that would be accessible to the outside to place the outside unit and run lines. Putting it in the ceiling, the lineset runs through the attic to a spot near the main A/C compressor for the rest of the house.

Second one is a 24K floor/ceiling model in the shop. I have it installed with the ceiling mount, so it takes virtually no wall space and moves the air in a way that suits the size (24x30x8) and shape of my work area. Was originally looking for the 18K system, but it was "sold out" for most of last summer. The larger one was available, so I ponied up the extra money and got it. So far, not disappointed.

Both units say they "maintain heat output to -13°F", but don't really say how much of that output is available. We don't have many days here below 10°, let alone almost 25 degrees cooler, so I'm not worried. He have had a few nights near zero lately, temps inside have been very adequate.
