SO i bit the bullet and will install minisplit for just over 200 sq foot. Will use heat mode for winter. Outside unit mounted (unfortunately on SE wall), but 4 feet off ground. What are people using for winter shelters to help keep snow ice etc off and improve winter efficiency?
Extensive online searches produce only 2 manufactures...cover tech and able canvas.

Anyone have experience with either? Price point way better on the cover-tech.

Thanks in advance.

Is it in danger of snow off roof? If not leave it alone. Needs both sides open so don’t get it

Resurrection with this post. Any body use shelters for their mini split/heat pump? Hard to believe I’m the only one that is thinking one might be beneficial for MN use. But that in fact might be the case. Anyone fabricate one? Mine hangs on the wall 5 feet off elevation. TIA.

If you build anything that reduces air movement, you will lower efficiency.

It's hung up high on the wall to keep it from being buried in a snowbank. That's all it needs.
