mini splits air filter cleaning/clogging?

Hi All, been looking at those units but am concerned if I do a lot of woodworking over the weekend or just dirt dust in the air how that affects the filters on these units? I assume I should stay away anything that filters microbes and such. How often do you end up cleaning them, is it easy?

If I remember correctly I installed mine in April. So its been 4 months. I've been doing alot of remodeling in my garage so the wood dust has been flying quite a bit on weekends and evenings. I checked the filter in the system just the other day and it looked like new. I guess with it being so high on the wall it doesnt collect much up there! I have a 1.5 Ton Ramsond unit and yes getting to and cleaning the filter is very easy!

I had a mini-split in my room in Iraq. As dusty as it was ALL of the time, we only removed them and rinsed them once a week. You should not have any problems at all.

Not to hijack the thread, but the Ramsond Mini Splits seem to take all the headaches out of the install (no evac. the lines are easy to setup), what is the catch? I heard that these units can be costly to maintain and they want $299 extra for a 1 year extended warranty.
