Hello garage journal, I wanted to share a small welding table I designed that was simple for welding use in the shop. Alot of the materials I got from scrap at my job which made it easier to piece together.

I added a husky cabinet under to store grinders and other tools. A cheapo vise was alot welded on the side

I have not decided on whether or not to paint this. Also, the two welding pieces on the top still have to be removed and grinded down.

i like it, im building a small welding table too, because it has to fit through my doorway. mine is 16"x30". i also went with "slats" on 2/3 of the top for clamping options, but the rest of the top will be one piece, hopefully with a removeable vise. glad to see someone else building a small table.

I love this place!

I'm in the process of planning a welding table project, and there's so many great ideas on this forum.

Yours turned out great, some neat features. Is the table surface inverted steel channels? If so, what size?

Yes it is steel channel I got the idea from other builds just a smaller version. My job throws these away in large stocks I just managed to put my hands on a few. Not sure of the size but they are pretty heavy and able to take heat. Interested in seeing more I have a YouTube channel MegaManny009

Did you drill all the holes in the top?

Also, what are the 2 pieces of angle iron for that are welded to the top? If it's for clamping stuff, seems they might get in the way sometimes for a bigger piece, or are they removable?

I love the size of the table. That's what I need to do since I have a small garage and I always weld outside.

I still have to cut them off, these materials were scrap. I ended up getting my hand on more channel so I will be making a larger one

Awesome table. I'm getting ready to build to build my own table and was scouring Youtube for ideas and saw your table on there. Nice budget build. I don't think I'm going to go much bigger than what you have for mine. Maybe 4 foot by 4 foot.
