Well okay, a shed. My old shed is pooped out and I need a new spot to store my extra toys. Was thinking of an 8x10 with an open style gambrel roof on 24" centres. Are there any issues with using the calculator on blocklayer.com? What would be a sufficient gusset with an assumed snow load of up to 12"? Will 2x4 framing for the roof be sufficient, or would it be better to use 2x6 for the roof? I would be setting the roof onto a 36-48" 2x4 wall.

I would thing for a shed/roof that size, 2"x4" would be ok but for thr cost difference I'd do the 2x6"s.

16x31 just might cause me a bit of consternation from the wife. She has this crazy idea that there should be some space left for yard life.
