I've been looking around for small torches to use for various things without having to go the mini oxy/acetylene setup...any suggestions. I have looked at what S.O. has to offer...the Torch6 takes the butane cartridges. I thought someone on here might have some experience with this...Thx.

I have the Bernzomatic handheld torch, I got it from Home Depot for about $25.00, It refills with regular butane. I guess it all depends on what you need to heat up. I use it for thawing out frozen padlocks, Heat shrink tubing and other small jobs. You would have to step up to propane to solder copper pipes.
I purchased the harbor freight small butane torch and have owned it for 5 years now and it works as good as it did day 1. Its refillable and cost 6 bucks

I have a power probe brand butane torch. I really like it, but it is not a replacement for when O/A is needed.
Use dictates torch type, at least in the fabrication world. You could probably get by with a butane torch if all you do is electrical work on cars.

Those butane torches that Buster shows have very limited (heat) capacity. As suggested they are limited to some small soldering/heating jobs, but not much more. As an example, if you are thinking about silver soldering things, about the best you can expect is silver soldering a nut on a 1/4" bolt and even that is reaching a bit. Get O/A if you have real work to be done.
